RIP Groove
"RipGroove" is the debut single by English speed garage duo Double 99. A huge underground UK club hit in 1997 when first released on an EP as their alias R.I.P. Productions, the song was officially released as a single twice, first in May 1997 where it reached No. 31 on the UK Singles Chart, then again in October in a new mix featuring vocals by MC Top Cat, peaking seventeen places higher at No. 14. The song appeared on their sole album, ''7th High'', released in 2001. The song contains samples of Armand van Helden's Drum 'n' Bass Mix of CJ Bolland's "Sugar Is Sweeter", DJ Gunshot's "Wheel 'n' Deal", Barbara Tucker's "I Get Lifted (The Underground Network Mix)" and a vocal sample from the Kelly G Bump-N-Go Vocal Mix of Tina Moore's " Never Gonna Let You Go". Double 99
Double 99, also known as R.I.P. Productions and 10° Below, were a UK garage duo which consisted of members Timothy Andrew Liken (Tim Deluxe) and Omar Adimora. They are best known for their sole UK chart hit single " RipGroove", which reached No. 14 in its second release on the UK Singles Chart in 1997. Career Active since 1995, the duo recorded as R.I.P. Productions and 10° Below, releasing tracks and EPs on the Ice Cream label which they founded alongside Boogie Beat co-owner Andy Lysandrou (later of True Steppers). Jason Chue, better known as Wookie, is a UK garage musician. He scored a UK top 10 hit in 2000 with his song "Battle (song), Battle". Biography Chue's career began in 1991 as a producer for UK R&B/reggae artist Wayne Marshall (singer), Wayne Marshall, producing most of Marshall's debut album ''90 Degrees and Rising'' in 1994. Shortly after, Chue became writer/producer for Soul II Soul at their studio, working with Jazzie B for several years. He would also go on to produce for Dynamite MC and Doom Man. Chue has remixed tracks by Destiny's Child, Public Enemy (group), Public Enemy and Nas, among others. DJ EZ (pronounced "DJ ee zed") is a UK garage DJ from Tottenham, North London. He was one of the earliest proponents of UK garage music, hosting a long-running Kiss 100 radio show and mixing the ''Pure Garage'' series of compilations. Biography DJ EZ was born in London and raised in Tottenham, North London. His early discovery and love of house, hip hop and electro led to listening to pirate radio and recording early mixes in the hope to land a show on them. He is a supporter of Tottenham Hotspur F.C.
