RC High School
RC Commercial High School, founded as Ranchhodlal Chhotalal High School, is one of the oldest high school of Gujarat, located in Ahmedabad. History The school was founded in 1846 by Ranchhodlal Chhotalal and was the second English medium school and high school of the city after the Tuljaram Sakharam High School, which was founded in 1824. The school conducted an entrance test for admission and many elite mill owners and eminent personalities lined up for admission at this school In 1904, the foundation of a new building with infrastructure for the school was laid by Lord Lamington. The infrastructure had badminton and tennis courts, as well as a gymnasium for students' all-around physical development. Students could also learn French, Sanskrit and Persian and a hostel catered to those coming from far away. Jasubhai Motibhai Patel (26 November 1924 – 12 December 1992) was an off-spinner who played Test cricket for India. Early days At the age of ten, he broke his arm falling from a tree. Ahsan Jafri
Ehsan Jafri (1929 – 28 February 2002) was an Indian politician and former member of the 6th Lok Sabha for the Congress Party, who was killed in the Gulbarg Society massacre. A Special Investigating Team appointed by the Supreme Court of India concluded that he was killed after he fired at an agitated Hindu mob outside his house. His widow Zakia Jafri has subsequently alleged that the state of Gujarat and its then-chief minister, now the current prime minister of India, Narendra Modi, was partly responsible for the violence and lack of police intervention in favor of the victims at Gulbarg Society. Ganesh Vasudev Mavalankar (27 November 1888 – 27 February 1956) popularly known as ''Dadasaheb'' was an independence activist, the President (from 1946 to 1947) of the Central Legislative Assembly, then Speaker of the Constituent Assembly of India, and later the first Speaker of the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India. Arvind Narottambhai Lalbhai (3 April 1918 – 2007) was son of Narrotam Lalbhai one of the three brothers who founded the Arvind Mills in 1931, which today is amongst the top textiles companies of India and is the flagship company of the Rs. 2,000 crore Lalbhai Group established by his grandfather Lalbhai Dalpatbhai in 1896.
