The RC Aachen is a German rugby union :German rugby union clubs, club from Aachen, North Rhine-Westphalia, currently playing in the 2e klasse, the 3 tier of Dutch Rugby after being promoted mid-seasob due to good results. From 2012 till 2015 Aachen played in Rugby-Bundesliga. History The club was formed in 1980 and has made occasional appearances in the 2nd Rugby-Bundesliga South/West, the second tier of the German league system, playing at this level in 2000–01, 2006–07 and again in 2011–12. In between the club played in the tier three Rugby-Regionalliga, Rugby-Regionalliga North Rhine-Westphalia until becoming a founding member of the 3rd Liga South/West in 2010. The team finished the 2011–12 season on a relegation rank in the 2nd Bundesliga but, courtesy to an expansion of the Rugby-Bundesliga from ten to 24 teams, was instead promoted to the first tier of German rugby, the Bundesliga. The German Rugby Federation (german: Deutscher Rugby-Verband or ''DRV'') is the governing body for rugby union in Germany. It organizes the German national team and the three league divisions: the Rugby-Bundesliga, the 2nd Rugby-Bundesliga and the Rugby-Regionalliga. The 2011–12 Rugby-Bundesliga was the 41st edition of this competition and the 92nd edition of the German rugby union championship. In the Rugby-Bundesliga, the first division, ten teams played a home-and-away season with semi-finals and a final between the top four teams at the end. Mustafa Güngör
Mustafa Güngör is a German international rugby union player, playing for the TV Pforzheim in the Rugby-Bundesliga and the German national rugby union team. He is a former captain of the German Sevens and German XV team. He made his debut for Germany in a game against Sweden in 2003. Biography Güngör, born in Aachen of Turkish descent, began playing rugby when he was nine years old in 1990. By his own admission, he plays rugby because he is not good enough to play Bundesliga football. He originated from the youth department of the RC Aachen. He spent some time with the French club SO Millau and the Belgian team RC Visé in 2004. He then joined RG Heidelberg, playing for the club until 2011. With Heidelberg, he won two German championships, in 2006 and 2007 and made a losing appearance in the 2008 final against SC 1880 Frankfurt. DSV 78 Hannover, founded as ''DFV Hannover'' in 1878, is Germany's oldest rugby club. The club played in the 2nd Rugby-Bundesliga under the name DSV 78/08 Ricklingen, having formed an on-the-field union with SV 08 Ricklingen, another club from Hannover. At the end of the 2008–09 season, ''SV 08'' declared, it would leave the union with ''DSV 78'', leaving the latter to field its own team from 2009–10 onwards.
