Sun City, North West
Sun City is a luxury resort and casino, situated in the North West Province of South Africa. It is located between the Elands River and the Pilanesberg, about 140 km northwest of Johannesburg, near the city of Rustenburg. The complex borders the Pilanesberg National Park. It is made up of a number of themed sub-resorts with hotels on each, including the original Sun City Resort, ''The Cabanas'', ''The Cascades'' and the ''Lost City'' (The Palace). History Beginning Sun City was developed by the hotel magnate Sol Kerzner as part of his Sun International group of properties. Rustenburg (; , Afrikaans and Dutch: ''City of Rest'') is a city at the foot of the Magaliesberg mountain range. Rustenburg is the most populous city in North West province, South Africa (549,575 in 2011 and 626,522 in the 2016 census). North West is a province of South Africa. Its capital is Mahikeng. The province is located to the west of the major population centre of Gauteng and south of Botswana. History North West was incorporated after the end of Apartheid in 1994, and includes parts of the former Transvaal Province and Cape Province, as well as most of the former bantustan of Bophuthatswana. R104 (South Africa)
The R104 is a regional route in South Africa that is the designation for some of the old sections of roads that were previously the N4, prior to upgrading. It connects Pretoria with Middelburg in Mpumalanga via Bronkhorstspruit and Witbank. It also connects Pretoria with Rustenburg in the North West province via Hartbeespoort and Mooinooi. The R104 is also made up of a road in Nelspruit (Mbombela) which was previously part of the N4 national route. As the N4 bypasses the central part of the city to the north on a newer highway (opened on 13 June 2010), the old short road through Nelspruit central (Samora Machel Drive) is now designated as the R104.
