R562 (South Africa)
The R562 is a Regional Route in Gauteng, South Africa that connects Diepsloot with Olifantsfontein ( Clayville) and Thembisa via Midrand. Route Its western terminus is an intersection with the R511 Road (Winnie Mandela Drive) and the N14 Highway at Diepsloot. It heads east as Summit Road, passing by Bridle Park and crossing the R55 (Main Road) to enter Midrand. At the junction with the R55, the R562 changes its street name to Olifantsfontein Road and continues eastwards, separating the Country View and Noordwyk suburbs of Midrand. Just after Noordwyk, the R562 meets the N1 Highway (Ben Schoeman Highway) and enters the suburb of Randjespark. Just after the N1 interchange, the R562 forms an intersection with the R101 (Old Pretoria Main Road). R21 Road (South Africa)
The R21 / P157 is a major north–south provincial route (with a freeway portion designated as a National Road) in eastern Gauteng Province, South Africa. Built in the early 1970s, it remains one of two freeways (the other being the N1) linking Pretoria with Johannesburg, via the R24. As the eastern of the two freeways, it links the Pretoria city centre with OR Tambo International Airport, the N12 freeway, and Boksburg. Between the Solomon Mahlangu Drive on-ramp in Monument Park, Pretoria, and the N12 in Boksburg, the R21 / P157 is an 8 lane highway and motorway (freeway), with 4 lanes in each direction. It has off-ramps leading to Irene, Olifantsfontein, Benoni, and Kempton Park, including a partial offramp to Atlas Road. The M57 is a major metropolitan route in Greater Johannesburg, South Africa. A north/south route, it connects Germiston with the south-eastern suburbs of Pretoria via Kempton Park and Olifantsfontein. For most of its length, it is an alternative route to the R21 freeway. Route The M57 begins at a 4-way-junction with the R29 and M37 in Primrose (north of Germiston City Centre). It starts by heading east-north-east as Pretoria Road and meets the M39 (Lazarus Mawela Road) before crossing the N12 Highway (Johannesburg-Witbank Highway) as Ntemi Ncwane Road (formerly Kraft Road). R101 Road (South Africa)
The R101 is a Regional Route in South Africa that is the designation for some of the old sections of roads that were previously the N1, prior to upgrading. It only has 2 sections, from Bellville to Worcester and from Johannesburg to Polokwane. Western Cape The R101 starts in Bellville at the R102 running to the east parallel to the newer N1 freeway and is named 'Old Paarl Road'. It then goes through Brackenfell before entering Kraaifontein as 'Voortrekker Road'. At the intersection with Maroela Road in Kraaifontein East it is renamed 'Old Paarl Road' before entering the Cape Winelands. In the Cape Winelands it goes through Klapmuts and then enters Paarl. South of Paarl, the R101 is joined by the R45 to be co-signed for 6 kilometres northwards, crossing the N1 freeway, before separating from the R45 and turning right in Paarl Central Business District (CBD). Ben Schoeman Highway
The Ben Schoeman Freeway or Ben Schoeman Highway is the main freeway between Johannesburg and Pretoria, and consists of portions of the M1, N1, and N14. Opened in 1968, it is named after a former Minister of Transport Ben Schoeman, and is undoubtedly the busiest road in South Africa. Route The Ben Schoeman Highway begins under the designation of the M1, just north of the Corlett Drive exit, where the M1 is no longer under the maintenance of the Johannesburg Roads Agency. South of Corlett Drive, the M1 is known as the De Villiers Graaff Motorway. The M1 ends at the Buccleuch interchange with the N3 and N1 highways (Johannesburg Ring Road). The N1 is a national route in South Africa that runs from Cape Town through Bloemfontein, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Polokwane to Beit Bridge on the border with Zimbabwe.
