Limpopo is the northernmost province of South Africa. It is named after the Limpopo River, which forms the province's western and northern borders. The capital and largest city in the province is Polokwane, while the provincial legislature is situated in Lebowakgomo. The province is made up of 3 former homelands of Lebowa, Gazankulu and Venda and the former parts of the Transvaal province. The Limpopo province was established as one of the new nine provinces after South Africa's first democratic election on the 27th of April 1994. The R40 is a provincial route in South Africa that connects the Eswatini border at Bulembu via Barberton, Nelspruit and Hoedspruit with Phalaborwa. The route spans two provinces and passes through several private game reserves. Route Mpumalanga The R40 has its southern terminus on the Eswatini border at the Bulembu Border Post, with the town of Bulembu on the other side of the border. Mpumalanga () is a province of South Africa. The name means "East", or literally "The Place Where the Sun Rises" in the Swazi, Xhosa, Ndebele and Zulu languages. Mpumalanga lies in eastern South Africa, bordering Eswatini and Mozambique. It constitutes 6.5% of South Africa's land area. Timbavati Game Reserve
The Timbavati Private Nature Reserve is located at the border line between Hoedspruit (in Limpopo) and Acornhoek (in Mpumalanga), north of the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve on the western edge of Kruger National Park. Geographically and politically, Timbavati is located in Mpumalanga Province. In Xitsonga, the name 'Timbavati' means "the place where something sacred came down to Earth from the Heavens", and refers to the rare white lions of Timbavati. The reserve was established in 1956 by like-minded game farmers with the creation of the ''Timbavati Association''. The association has 50 members and covers . Manyeleti Game Reserve
The Manyeleti Game Reserve is situated in the east of the Mpumalanga province of South Africa. The game reserve is managed by the Mpumalanga Provincial Government and is over 22,750 ha in area. Location Manyeleti lies directly adjacent to the Kruger National Park (without fences), with the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve to its south and the Timbavati Game Reserve to its northwest.
