R518 (South Africa)
The R518 is a Regional Route in South Africa that connects Lephalale with Zebediela via Mokopane. Route Its western terminus is an intersection with the R510 at Lephalale (Ellisras). It goes east for 69 kilometres to meet the southern terminus of the R561 at the village of Marken and turn southwards. The R518 continues south, then south-east, for 103 kilometres to meet the N11 National Route and enter the town of Mokopane. The R518 and the N11 become one road south-east into the city centre. In the city centre of Mokopane, the R518 and the N11 meet the R101 and all 3 routes are co-signed on the road southwards (Thabo Mbeki Drive). At the 2nd junction afterwards, by Mokopane Mall, the R518 leaves Thabo Mbeki Drive (which remains designated as the R101 & N11) and becomes its own road south-east. Lephalale
Lephalale (formerly Ellisras) is a coal mining town in the Limpopo province of South Africa immediately east of the Waterberg Coalfield. The town was established as Ellisras in 1960 and named after Patrick Ellis and Piet Erasmus who settled on a farm there in the 1930s. In 2002, Ellisras was renamed Lephalale by the provincial government of Limpopo, after the main river that crosses the municipality. Lephalale is divided into three main subsections, Ellisras, Onverwacht and Marapong. Lephalale is derived from the setswana language meaning "to flow". Orrie Baragwanath Pass
Orrie Baragwanath Pass is situated in the Limpopo Province on the unnumbered road between Ofcolaco and Lebowakgomo (South Africa). The pass has a steep paved ascent from the east up the slopes of the far northern Drakensberg mountains to a height of 1370 m above sea level. The R37 is a provincial route in South Africa that connects Polokwane with Nelspruit (Mbombela) via Burgersfort and Lydenburg. Route The R37 begins in Polokwane Central (Capital of Limpopo), at a junction with the two one-way streets that form the R101 Route (Grober Street & Thabo Mbeki Street), just west of the R101's intersection with the R71 Route. The N1 is a national route in South Africa that runs from Cape Town through Bloemfontein, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Polokwane to Beit Bridge on the border with Zimbabwe. The R101 is a Regional Route in South Africa that is the designation for some of the old sections of roads that were previously the N1, prior to upgrading. It only has 2 sections, from Bellville to Worcester and from Johannesburg to Polokwane. Western Cape The R101 starts in Bellville at the R102 running to the east parallel to the newer N1 freeway and is named 'Old Paarl Road'. It then goes through Brackenfell before entering Kraaifontein as 'Voortrekker Road'. At the intersection with Maroela Road in Kraaifontein East it is renamed 'Old Paarl Road' before entering the Cape Winelands. In the Cape Winelands it goes through Klapmuts and then enters Paarl. The N11 is a national route in South Africa which runs from the Botswana border at Groblersbrug, through Mokopane, Middelburg, Ermelo and Newcastle to end at the N3 just after Ladysmith. Route Limpopo The N11 begins at the Groblersbrug Border with Botswana (Grobler's Bridge in English) on the Limpopo River. The R510 is a Regional Route in South Africa that connects Rustenburg with the Stockpoort Border with Botswana via Thabazimbi and Lephalale. Route It runs almost north-south for most of its length. The northern end of the R510 is the Stockpoort border post with Botswana. It runs east for 43 kilometres before giving off the R572 and assuming a southerly direction. It then continues to the town of Lephalale (Ellisras), where the R518 and the R33 both branch off, heading east. It continues south, giving off the R517 which head south-east, before reaching Thabazimbi. Just south of Thabazimbi, the R511 diverges and heads south.
