Róbert Puci
Róbert Puci (born 13 June 1973 in Trebišov) is a Slovak politician. He has served as a member of the National Council since 2012, as well as Direction – Slovak Social Democracy until 2020. Puci was known as a staunch loyalist of the party chairman and prime minister Robert Fico. Nonetheless, when the party split in 2020, he left Direction to join Voice – Social Democracy. The National Council of the Slovak Republic ( sk, Národná rada Slovenskej republiky), abbreviated to ''NR SR'', is the national parliament of Slovakia. It is unicameral and consists of 150 members, who are elected by universal suffrage under proportional representation with seats distributed via Hagenbach-Bischoff quota every four years. Slovakia's parliament has been called the 'National Council' since 1 October 1992. From 1969 to 1992, its predecessor, the parliament of the Slovak part of Czechoslovakia, was called the Slovak National Council ( sk, Slovenská národná rada). Robert Fico
Robert Fico (; born 15 September 1964) is a Slovak politician who served as the prime minister of Slovakia from 2006 to 2010 and from 2012 to 2018 (when he resigned). He has been the first leader of the Direction – Social Democracy (SMER-SD) party since 1999. First elected to Parliament in 1992 (whilst within Czechoslovakia), he was later appointed to the Council of Europe. Following his party's victory in the 2006 parliamentary election, he formed the first Fico Cabinet. After the 2010 parliamentary election, Fico sat as an opposition member of parliament, effectively as leader of the opposition. Voice – Social Democracy ( sk, Hlas – sociálna demokracia, HLAS–SD) is a social-democratic political party in Slovakia. The party was founded in June 2020 and officially registered by the Ministry of the Interior in September 2020. The entire party presidium and most of its members are former senior members of the then left-wing populist Direction – Social Democracy (SMER–SD). The leader and chairman of the party is the former prime minister of Slovakia and former SMER–SD vice-chairman Peter Pellegrini.
