Río Arapey Grande
The Arapey Grande River is a river in the Salto Department of northwestern Uruguay. It flows from the northeast of department, with its headwaters near the border with Rivera Department, in a western direction and discharges in the Uruguay River. Its length is about . All of its tributaries are streams within Salto department, with its main tributaries streams being Arroyo Sarandí del Arapey, Arroyo Cambara, Arroyo Mataojo Chico, Arroyo Mataojo Grande, Arroyo del Sauce, Arroyo Valentín Grande and the Arapey Chico River, which forms part of the border with Artigas Department and has some tributaries from that department. Cuchilla De Haedo
The Cuchilla de Haedo (Haedo Range) is a low range of hills located in the north-northwest of Uruguay, to the west of Tacuarembó, and running southwest toward Paysandú. Salto Department () is a department of the northwestern region of Uruguay. It has an area of and a population of 124,878. Its capital is the city of Salto. It borders Artigas Department to its north, Paysandú Department to its south, the departments of Rivera and Tacuarembó to its east and has the Río Uruguay flowing at its west, separating it from Argentina. History The first division of the Republic in six departments happened on 27 January 1816. Two more departments were formed later in that year. Artigas Department ( es, Departamento de Artigas, ) is the northernmost department of Uruguay, located in its northwestern region. Its capital is the city of Artigas, which borders on the Brazilian city of Quaraí. Artigas Department has an area of , making it the fifth largest in the country.
