The Hacker
Michel Amato, better known by his stage name The Hacker, is a French electroclash and techno producer who has worked extensively with Miss Kittin. His work has been influenced by electronic artists like Kraftwerk, new wave artists such as the Cure and Depeche Mode, as well as the French rave scene of the early 1990s. His artist name comes from the Jeff Mills track of the same name. Career The Hacker started making music in 1989 at the age of 17 in Grenoble, France. At the time, Duran Duran was an early influence, but he later discovered the darker side of electro through electronic body music groups like Cabaret Voltaire and D.A.F. In 1993, The Hacker took on the hardcore side of electro and released a few 12”s with Benoit Bollini under the name XMF. In 1995, he made his own music in classic Detroit styled after Jeff Mills. Electroclash (also known as synthcore, retro-electro, tech-pop, nouveau disco, and the new new wave) is a Music genre, genre of popular music that fuses 1980s Electro (music), electro, New wave music, new wave and synth-pop with 1990s techno, retro-style electropop and electronic dance music. It emerged in the late 1990s and was pioneered by and associated with acts such as I-F, DJ Hell, Miss Kittin and The Hacker, and Fischerspooner. ''Two'' is the second studio album by French electronic music duo Miss Kittin & The Hacker, released on 12 March 2009 by Miss Kittin's label Nobody's Bizzness. Background and development In 2007, Miss Kittin & The Hacker reunited to release the single "Hometown / Dimanche" through Good Life Recordings. The music video for "Hometown" was directed by Régis Brochier of 7th floor Productions. Le Car was an American electronic musical group from Detroit, Michigan, comprising Ian Clark and Adam Lee Miller. From 1995 to 1998, Le Car generated club techno and lo-fi electronica. Miller later went on to form ADULT.; Clark formed Perspects. Recording history Le Car were featured on the album ''Electro Juice'' and five compilation albums released by Austrian electronica label Sabotage alongside fellow recording artists such as Patrick Pulsinger, Def Con, and the Private Lightning Six. Ersatz Audio has also released tracks by Miller and Clark solo projects Artificial Material and Lesseninglesson respectively. Mount Sims
Matthew Sims, commonly known by his stage name Mount Sims (or Mt. Sims), is a Berlin-based American DJ, performance artist, and producer. A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Sims began his career in the local music scene. Sims was involved in several groups, the most notable of which was Citizen King, an alternative rock band famous for their 1999 hit " Better Days (And the Bottom Drops Out)", which reached #25 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. However, Citizen King disbanded by 2002 for undisclosed reasons. Around the same time, Sims relocated to Los Angeles, where he continued his music career as a solo artist. Caroline Hervé (born 15 July 1973), known professionally as Kittin, is a French electronic music producer, DJ, singer, and songwriter. Since rising to prominence in 1998 for her singles "1982" and "Frank Sinatra" with The Hacker, she has worked with other musicians such as Chicks on Speed, Felix da Housecat and Golden Boy.
