Reo (deity)
Reo is a name appearing on Latin dedications to a Lusitanian-Gallaecian deity, usually with an epithet relating to a place, such as Reo Paramaeco discovered in Lugo in Galicia. The name ''Reo'' is in the Latin dative case, for a Latinized name ''*Reus''. Name and meaning Apart from ''Reo Larauco'' (Reus of Larouco) the epithets share an ''-aik-'' element interpreted as an adjectival marker familiar from Lusitanian inscriptions in the dedications to Reo ''Paramaeco'' (Reus of Paramo) ''Amoaego Arcunii'', ''Anabaraeco'', and ''Alabaraico Sulensi''. The first element ''Reo/Reus'' is very similar to the name ''Reue'' appearing on the Lusitanian Cabeço das Fráguas inscription, part of which reads INDI TAVROM IFADEM REVE T..., usually interpreted as "and (''or'' thereafter) a fertile(?) bull for Reue" with the epithet lost. ''Reue'' therefore also seems to be a dative in the Lusitanian form of the name. ''Reue'' appears again on the Ribeira da Venda inscription, including an epi ...

Tower Of Hanoi
The Tower of Hanoi (also called The problem of Benares Temple or Tower of Brahma or Lucas' Tower and sometimes pluralized as Towers, or simply pyramid puzzle) is a mathematical game or puzzle consisting of three rods and a number of disks of various diameters, which can slide onto any rod. The puzzle begins with the disks stacked on one rod in order of decreasing size, the smallest at the top, thus approximating a conical shape. The objective of the puzzle is to move the entire stack to the last rod, obeying the following rules: # Only one disk may be moved at a time. # Each move consists of taking the upper disk from one of the stacks and placing it on top of another stack or on an empty rod. # No disk may be placed on top of a disk that is smaller than it. With 3 disks, the puzzle can be solved in 7 moves. The minimal number of moves required to solve a Tower of Hanoi puzzle is 2''n'' − 1, where ''n'' is the number of disks. Origins The puzzle was introduced to the West ...

The Dream Ouroboros
''The'' () is a grammatical article in English, denoting persons or things already mentioned, under discussion, implied or otherwise presumed familiar to listeners, readers, or speakers. It is the definite article in English. ''The'' is the most frequently used word in the English language; studies and analyses of texts have found it to account for seven percent of all printed English-language words. It is derived from gendered articles in Old English which combined in Middle English and now has a single form used with pronouns of any gender. The word can be used with both singular and plural nouns, and with a noun that starts with any letter. This is different from many other languages, which have different forms of the definite article for different genders or numbers. Pronunciation In most dialects, "the" is pronounced as (with the voiced dental fricative followed by a schwa) when followed by a consonant sound, and as (homophone of pronoun ''thee'') when followed by a ...

Revés/Yo Soy
''Revés/Yo Soy'' (English: Backwards/I Am) is the fourth album by the Mexican rock band Café Tacuba, released in 1999. In fact, it is two albums—''Revés'' is an instrumental album, ''Yo Soy'' a collection of songs the band had been saving up since their second album, '' Re''. It was nominated for a Grammy Award, in the "Best Latin Rock/Alternative Performance" category. It won the Latin Grammy Award for "Best Rock Album". Critical reception ''The New York Times'' wrote: "Many of the Spanish lyrics are about isolation and disorientation: as most great bands do three or four albums into a career, Cafe Tacuba has made a record about entering one's 30s and wondering what the next step is." In a retrospective article, the ''Chicago Tribune'' called the album a "masterpiece," writing that it "matched offbeat Eno-meets-Esquivel instrumentals with slightly more conventional rock songs." Track listing Personnel * Ñru (Rubén Albarrán) – vocals (except 4, 7, 12, 15), guitar ...

Gerard Reve
Gerard Kornelis van het Reve (14 December 1923 – 8 April 2006) was a Dutch writer. He started writing as Simon Gerard van het Reve and adopted the shorter Gerard Reve in 1973. Together with Willem Frederik Hermans and Harry Mulisch, he is considered one of the "Great Three" (''De Grote Drie'') of Dutch post-war literature. His 1981 novel ''De vierde man'' ( The Fourth Man) was the basis for Paul Verhoeven's 1983 film. Reve was one of the first homosexual authors to come out in the Netherlands. He often wrote explicitly about erotic attraction, sexual relations and intercourse between men, which many readers considered shocking. However, he did this in an ironic, humorous and recognizable way, which contributed to making homosexuality acceptable for many of his readers. Another main theme, often in combination with eroticism, was religion. Reve himself declared that the primary message in all of his work was salvation from the material world we live in. Gerard Reve was bo ...

Thomas Le Reve
Thomas le Reve (died 1394) was the first Bishop of Waterford and Lismore following the unification of the two sees in 1363, and was also Lord Chancellor of Ireland. He was a strong-minded and combative individual, who was not afraid to clash with his ecclesiastical superiors. Life Little is known of his early life, but a reference to his "great age" at death suggests that he was born in the early years of the fourteenth century. His name is believed to be an early form of Reeves, which later became common in Ireland. He had at least one brother Walter, who was also a priest. He was prebendary of the Diocese of Killaloe and then of the Diocese of Lismore, and a canon of Lismore Cathedral. He was also Archdeacon of Cashel for a time. Bishop He became Bishop of Lismore in 1358. In 1363 Pope Urban V united the sees of Lismore and Waterford with le Reve as the first bishop of the united see.Ball, F.
