Ryles Jazz Club
Ryles Jazz Club was a jazz club located at 212 Hampshire Street, Cambridge, Boston. Located in a former Italian restaurant, now painted black, it was the oldest jazz club in Cambridge and the second oldest in the Greater Boston area. It featured a mixture of blues, jazz, R&B, world beat, and Latin in two rooms on two different floors. In recent decades it became well-noted for its Latin and Brazilian jazz music, featuring Brazilian music on Wednesday nights and salsa and merengue on Thursdays. On Sundays it featured a "jazz brunch" between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. and the Ryles Jazz Club Orchestra from 4-7 p.m. Although mostly featuring local Boston talent, the club featured notables such as Pat Metheny, Robben Ford, Grover Washington Jr., Olga Román, Arturo Sandoval, McCoy Tyner, Maynard Ferguson, Jon Hendricks, Jon Faddis, Néstor Torres, Mose Allison Mose John Allison Jr. (November 11, 1927 – November 15, 2016) was an American jazz and blues pianist, singer, and songwriter. ... Jason Ryles
Jason Ryles (born 17 January 1979 in Wollongong, New South Wales) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 2000s and 2010s. A New South Wales State of Origin and Australia national representative forward, he played in the National Rugby League for the St. George Illawarra Dragons before going to the Super League and playing for French club Catalans Dragons. Ryles returned to Australia and played for the Sydney Roosters before finishing his career at the Melbourne Storm. Playing career In 2000, Ryles made his National Rugby League debut, playing for the St. George Illawarra Dragons. At the end of the 2001 NRL season, he went on the 2001 Kangaroo tour. In June, 2008, St. George Illawarra announced Ryles had signed with French Super League club, Catalans Dragons for two years commencing in 2009. John Wesley Ryles
John Wesley Ryles (born December 2, 1950) is an American country music artist. Ryles recorded a string of hit country songs, beginning in 1968 when he was still a teenager, and continuing through the 1980s. He no longer records as a headline artist but remains active in the music industry as a session musician. Biography At age 17, he made his debut in 1968 with the single " Kay", a Top Ten hit on the ''Billboard'' Hot Country Singles (now Hot Country Songs) charts, and the title track to his debut album for Columbia Records. Ryles later recorded one album, ''Reconsider Me'', for the Plantation label, which produced a No. 39 single in its title track. It was followed by two non-album singles, "Tell It Like It Is" and "When a Man Loves a Woman," both on the Music Mill label in 1976. He then moved to Dot Records. His first single on ABC/Dot, "Fool", Made it to No. 18 on the Hot Country chart followed by his highest-peaking single, the No. 5 "Once in a Lifetime Thing." When ... Nancy Ryles
Nancy Ann Ryles (December 18, 1937 – September 12, 1990) was an Oregon politician. She served in the Oregon House of Representatives, the Oregon Senate and as one of three members of the state's Public Utility Commission. She was known as an advocate for education and for equality for women and minorities. An elementary school in Beaverton is named after her.
