Jens Fredrik Ryland
Jens Fredrik Ryland (born 5 May 1974) is a Norwegian guitarist most notable for his work with the heavy metal band Borknagar. He is known also for being the founder of the Inferno Festival in Oslo. Biography Jens was born in Narvik, Norway and grew up in Evenes. His first instrument was the piano before he moved on to guitar at the age of 10. First band experience was through the local youth club which led to the first concert already at the age of 14 in front of 400 kids at the festival Rock Mot Rus March 1989. In 1991, he and some friends formed Gangland, a '70s and '80s hard rock cover band. They did several gigs in the two-year period they were together, among these performing at Rock Mot Rus both in 1992 and- 93. The band was disbanded as Jens joined the airforce. Ryland Davies (born 9 February 1943) is a Welsh people, Welsh operatic tenor. Davies was born in Cwm, Blaenau Gwent, Cwm, Ebbw Vale. He studied at the Royal Manchester College of Music. in 1964 he made his professional debut, at Glyndebourne Festival Opera, where he sang the part of Almaviva in Gioachino Rossini's opera, ''The Barber of Seville''. During his active career he also sang important roles at the Royal Opera House, the Paris Opéra, San Francisco Opera and the Metropolitan Opera. Cobra Starship was an American dance-pop band founded in 2005 by Gabe Saporta (ex- Midtown), and headquartered in New York City. He recorded the first album as a solo project, ''While the City Sleeps, We Rule the Streets''. Saporta later enlisted guitarist Ryland Blackinton, bassist Alex Suarez, drummer Nate Novarro, and keytarist Victoria Asher, all of whom provide backing vocals. Over ten years, Cobra Starship produced four albums and two ''Billboard'' Hot 100 top 10 singles. Sir William Ryland Dent Adkins (11 May 1862 – 30 January 1925) was an English barrister, judge and Liberal politician. Family and education Ryland Adkins, as he was known at least professionally, was the son of William Adkins JP of Springfield, Northampton and his wife Harriet (née Dent) of the Manor House, Milton, Northampton. He was educated at Mill Hill School, University College, London where he obtained a BA degree and Balliol College, Oxford where he won a History Exhibition. He was an ardent Free churchman and was an active member of the Congregational Union. Career Adkins studied for the law and in 1890 was called to the Bar by the Inner Temple. William Ryland (1770 – January 10, 1846) was a Methodist minister who served several terms as Chaplain of the Senate. Early years William Ryland was born in Ireland in 1770. He came to the United States at the age of 18 and settled in Harford County, Maryland. For a time, he engaged in business in Baltimore; on May 28, 1799 a fire in that city damaged his warehouse. William Wynne Ryland
William Wynne Ryland (1732 or July 173829 August 1783) was an English engraver, who pioneered stipple engraving and was executed for forgery. Life and work Ryland was born in London, the eldest of seven sons of Edward Ryland (died 1771), an engraver and copper-plate printer. He studied engraving under Ravenet in London, and, in Paris, drawing under François Boucher and engraving under Jacques-Philippe Le Bas. After spending five years on the continent he returned to England, and having engraved portraits of George III and Lord Bute (after Ramsay), and a portrait of Queen Charlotte and the Princess Royal after Francis Cotes , he was appointed engraver to the king, a position that carried a salary of £200 per annum. Robert Ryland
Robert Ryland (March 14, 1805 – April 23, 1899) was the first president of Richmond College (now the University of Richmond), serving from 1840 to 1866. Prior to the establishment of the college, he had served as the only superintendent of its predecessor institution, the Virginia Baptist Seminary, since 1832. Ryland served as the first pastor for the First African Baptist Church of Richmond, Virginia from 1841 to 1865. The church is a prominent Black church founded in 1841, its members initially included both slaves and freedmen. It has since had a major influence on the local black community. At one point, it was one of the largest Protestant churches in the United States. Octavius Ryland (c. 24 June 1800 – 8 May 1886) was a convict transported to Western Australia, who later became one of the colony's ex-convict school teachers. Born in London in 1800 and baptised on 24 June of that year, Octavius Ryland was the eight son of Richard Ryland and Harriet Croft, daughter of Sir Archer Croft, baronet. Ryland married Mary Ann Muggeridge on 27 September 1826.
