For Truth (russian: За правду; ''Za pravdu'') was a national-conservative political party in Russia. It was established in February 2020 by writer Zakhar Prilepin. On January 28, 2021, the party united with the Patriots of Russia party and A Just Russia. History The creation of the movement "For truth" was announced on 29 October 2019 at a press conference by Zakhar Prilepin, Alexander Kazakov, Vadim Samoilov, Eduard Boyakov and Vladislav Bevza. New People (russian: Новые люди, Novyye lyudi) is a political party in Russia formed in Moscow on 1 March 2020. New People is considered a liberal party, and observers have called it centrist or centre-right. It was established in March 2020 by Alexey Nechayev, the founder of the Russian cosmetics company Faberlic. 2020 Russian Elections
The 2020 Russian regional elections took place across three days from 11 to 13 September 2020 in 28 out of the 85 federal subjects of Russia. Elected were 18 directly-elected governors, 2 indirectly-elected governors and 11 regional parliaments. The elections also coincided with local elections in many cities. A total of 156,000 candidates stood for 78,000 positions at regional, local and municipal levels. The vote was extended over three days in a move the government said was to avoid over-crowding and reduce the risk from COVID-19. Candidates for the ruling United Russia party and their allies won all 20 governorships with more than 50% of the vote, meaning they would not need to hold a second round run-off. The regional parliaments of Russia are the legislative bodies of power in the federal subjects of Russia (republics, Territories of Russia, regions, autonomous districts and federal cities), which have different names, often collectively referred to in the media as regional parliaments.
