Ryan Wheeler
Ryan Wayne Wheeler (born July 10, 1988) is an American former professional baseball third baseman. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies. Career Amateur Wheeler attended Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California. In 2008, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod Baseball League and was named a league all-star. Arizona Diamondbacks The Arizona Diamondbacks drafted Wheeler in the fifth round of the 2009 MLB Draft. MLB.com rated Wheeler the 18th best prospect in the Diamondbacks' organization heading into the 2012 season. Wheeler was named the PCL's Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending April 29. The Loyola Marymount Lions baseball team represents Loyola Marymount University, in Los Angeles, CA in college baseball. The UTEP Miners is the name given to the sports teams of the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). They are informally referred to as the Miners, UTEP, or Texas–El Paso. UTEP was a member of the Western Athletic Conference from 1967 to 2005, when they joined Rice, Tulsa, and SMU in leaving the WAC for Conference USA. The UTEP Miners are best known as the first team in Texas to win an NCAA Men's Basketball Championship (and only team in Texas to be national champions until Baylor’s victory in the 2021 tournament). Miss Texas USA
The Miss Texas USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state Texas in the Miss USA pageant, and the name of the title held by that winner. This pageant is part of the Miss USA Organization, owned by Texas native Crystle Stewart, herself a Miss USA for 2008. The pageant is currently held in Houston. It has previously been hosted by El Paso, San Antonio, South Padre Island, Lubbock and Laredo. It was televised from 1971 to 2009.
