Ryan Orlando Thompson (born November 4, 1967) is an American former professional outfielder. He played all or parts of nine seasons in the majors between 1992 and 2002 for the New York Mets, Cleveland Indians, Houston Astros, New York Yankees, Florida Marlins and Milwaukee Brewers of Major League Baseball (MLB). Thompson also played one season in Japan for the Fukuoka Daiei Hawks in 1998. Ryan Scott Thompson (born June 26, 1992) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2020. Thompson is a submarine-style pitcher. Career Amateur career Thompson attended Cascade High School in Turner, Oregon and played college baseball at Chemeketa Community College and Campbell University. In 2013, he briefly played collegiate summer baseball for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks of the Cape Cod Baseball League. Houston Astros The Houston Astros selected Thompson in the 23rd round of the 2014 Major League Baseball draft. He made his professional debut with the Low-A Tri-City ValleyCats, posting a 2.96 ERA in 23 appearances. Ryan Andre Oniel Thompson (born 7 January 1985) is a Jamaican former footballer who is the head coach for Austin Bold FC in the USL Championship. Career Career Harbour View Ryan was the starting keeper at Harbour View until he accepted a soccer scholarship to the University of Tampa in Tampa, Florida. College and Amateur Thompson was an All-American during his time at the University of Tampa. He played 57 times for the Tampa Spartans whilst at the University. During his time in college, Thompson also played for Bradenton Academics in the USL Premier Development League.
