Ryan Ridder
Ryan Ridder (born November 11, 1984) is an American college basketball coach and current head coach for the UT Martin Skyhawks men's basketball team. He previously served as the head coach at Bethune-Cookman. Coaching career After completing a playing career at Embry-Riddle under his father, Steve, Ridder got his coaching start at North Raleigh Christian Academy as an assistant coach before returning to his alma mater as an assistant a year later. Ridder served as an assistant at Campbell for three seasons before taking the head coaching job at Daytona State College. 2019–20 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Season
The 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season began on November 5, 2019. The first tournament was the 2K Sports Classic and the season concluded prematurely on March 12, 2020. The 2020 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament was scheduled to end in Atlanta on April 6, 2020, but was ultimately canceled. All other postseason tournaments were canceled as well. Practices officially began in late September. On March 12, 2020, the NCAA announced that all remaining winter and spring championships for both men's and women's sports were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the first cancellation in the history of the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. The NCAA did not name an official national champion after the tournament was canceled. 2022–23 UT Martin Skyhawks Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 UT Martin Skyhawks men's basketball team represented the University of Tennessee at Martin in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Skyhawks, led by second-year head coach Ryan Ridder, played their home games at Skyhawk Arena in Martin, Tennessee as members of the Ohio Valley Conference. They finished the season 19–14, 10–8 in OVC play to finish in a tie for third place. As the No. 3 seed in the OVC tournament, they defeated SIU Edwardsville before losing Tennessee Tech in the semifinals. The 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season began on November 7, 2022. The regular season will end on March 12, 2023, with the 2023 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament beginning on March 14 and ending with the championship game at NRG Stadium in Houston on April 3.
