Ryan McCarthy (American Football)
Ryan McCarthy was an American college football coach. He served the head football coach at Central Connecticut State University from 2019 to 2022. Early life A native of Wilder, Vermont, McCarthy earned a B.S. in physical education at State University of New York at Cortland, where he played as a quarterback for the Cortland Red Dragons. Coaching career Macarthy began his coaching career at Siena College in 2003. He then moved to the University at Albany, SUNY and served as assistant coach for 11 seasons. His teams led the Northeast Conference (NEC) in offense four times and set numerous offensive records under head coach Bob Ford. McCarthy moved to Central Connecticut State University and became the offensive coordinator under Pete Rossomando in 2015. When Rossomando left to join the staff at Rutgers, McCarthy was named head coach. In his first season as head coach he won the Northeast Conference and led his team to a 11–1 regular season record. Wilder, Vermont
Wilder is an unincorporated village and census-designated place (CDP) within the town of Hartford in Windsor County, Vermont, United States. It is the location of the Wilder Dam on the Connecticut River. The population of the CDP was 1,690 at the 2010 census. Pete Rossomando
Peter Rossomando (born April 7, 1972) is an American football coach and former player. He is currently the eleventh head coach at NCAA Division I FCS member Lamar University, named on December 10, 2022. He served as the interim head coach at University of North Carolina at Charlotte for the final four games of the 2022 football season. He had been the 49er's offensive line coach for the 2021 and 2022 seasons. He was previously the offensive line coach for Vanderbilt University during the 2020 football season. Rossomando served as the head football coach at the University of New Haven from 2008 to 2013 and Central Connecticut State University from 2014 to 2018. In 2012, he was awarded the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Award for NCAA Division II as head coach of the New Haven Chargers. The 2020–21 NCAA Division I FCS football season, part of college football in the United States, was organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) level. The regular season and postseason were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States. Multiple FCS conferences moved their scheduled games from the fall of 2020 to the spring of 2021, and in August 2020, the NCAA announced that the FCS postseason would also be delayed.
