Ryan Hamilton (born April 15, 1985) is a Canadians, Canadian former professional ice hockey Forward (ice hockey), forward who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Edmonton Oilers. He spent his last three professional seasons Captain (ice hockey), Captaining the Bakersfield Condors of the American Hockey League (AHL). Playing career On July 5, 2006, Hamilton was signed as an Undrafted Free Agent by the Minnesota Wild. On January 21, 2009, he was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for Robbie Earl. In 2011, Hamilton was named the captain of the Toronto Marlies. During the 2011-12 NHL season, 2011–12 season, he made his NHL debut with the Maple Leafs on March 23, 2012 in a 4-3 win against the New Jersey Devils, registering an assist. Ryan Alexander Hamilton (born ) is a New Zealand politician. He has been the Member of Parliament for representing the National Party since the 2023 general election. He was a Hamilton city councillor from 2018 until resigning following his election to Parliament. Political career Hamilton City Council Hamilton unsuccessfully ran for the Hamilton City Council in 2004, 2010, and 2016. He also unsuccessfully ran for election to the WEL Energy Trust and the Waikato District Health Board. He was finally elected to the council in a February 2018 by-election following the death of councillor Philip Yeung. People on Vacation (often abbreviated as POV) was a collaboration composed of Ryan Hamilton from the indie rock band Smile Smile and Jaret Reddick from the pop punk band Bowling for Soup. The duo's concept is to "tell a story" and to "avoid typical topics such as relationships". The duo describe their genre as indie rock. History 2010–2012: Formation and The Carry on EP Ryan Hamilton and Jaret Reddick decided to start writing songs together after Hamilton's band, Smile Smile, opened for Reddick's band, Bowling for Soup, on a few of their tour dates. After four days of writing, the duo had written six songs, which later resulted in the formation of the band People on Vacation.
