A punter (P) in gridiron football is a special teams player who receives the snap (gridiron football), snapped ball directly from the line of scrimmage and then Punt (gridiron football), punts (kicks) the football to the opposing team so as to limit any field position advantage. Brandon David Fields (born May 21, 1984) is a former American football punter who played nine seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for Michigan State University, and earned consensus All-American honors. He was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the seventh round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He has also played for the New Orleans Saints. Early years Fields was born in Southfield, Michigan. He attended St. John's Jesuit High School in Toledo, Ohio, and played for the St, John's Titans high school football team.
