Ruth Virginia Brazzil
Ruth Virginia Brazzil, sometimes known as Ruth Brazzil Roome (September 12, 1889 – May 22, 1976) was a Texas lawyer and jurist. She was a member of the All-Woman Supreme Court of 1925. Life and career Brazzil was the eldest child of William N. and Winnie Shelman Brazzil, and was a native of Tyler, Texas. At least part of her early education was spent in Wharton, Texas; she then attended the University of Texas as a special student, studying law. Admitted to the Texas Bar in 1912, she then began work in Austin for a member of the state legislature. She had a business interest in real estate as well, and worked for the Wharton County Abstract Company in Wharton while in her twenties. She also became assistant general manager and assistant treasurer of Galveston's American National Life Insurance Company. Hattie Leah Henenberg
Hattie Leah Henenberg (February 16, 1893 – November 28, 1974) was a lawyer from Texas. She was a member of the All-Woman Supreme Court convened in 1925, the first all-female high court in the United States. Life and career Henenberg was born in Ennis, Texas to a Hungarian-born mother and an American-born father. With her parents, Samuel and Rosa (née Trebitsch), and six siblings she moved to Dallas in 1904, where the family helped her ailing grandfather Lazar in the running of his pawn shop; there she attended the public schools. She found work as a stenographer while taking night classes at the Dallas School of Law, an affiliate of Southern Methodist University. She obtained her law license in 1916, and would go on to practice law in Dallas for fifty years. Henenberg was always interested in social causes. Bandera, Texas
Bandera (Spanish: "flag", ) is the county seat of Bandera County, Texas, United States, in the Texas Hill Country, which is part of the Edwards Plateau. The population was 857 at the 2010 census. Bandera calls itself the " Cowboy Capital of the World". History A visitor to Bandera can see a sign on Main Street in front of the fire department that states that Bandera was founded by Polish Roman Catholic immigrants from Upper Silesia. St. Stanislaus Catholic Church was built by those immigrants, and the church is one of the oldest in Texas. Many of the residents are descended from those original Polish immigrants. Several stories exist regarding the origin of the name "Bandera".
