Ruston High School
Ruston High School is a four-year public high school located in the Lincoln Parish School District of Ruston, Louisiana, United States. The school has an enrollment of approximately 1300 students with 85 faculty members; the mascot is the Bearcats named "Rusty,” by a class of 2009 student, Anna Ward. The school colors are red and white. Black students were first admitted in 1970. Ruston High School also serves as a memorial to the survivors of the Gulf War. Louisiana High School Athletic Association
The Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) is the agency that regulates and promotes the interscholastic athletic competitions of all high schools in the state of Louisiana. Organization LHSAA was founded in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in October 1920. The LHSAA's main office was in Hammond from 1953 until 1972, when it returned to Baton Rouge. The LHSAA is governed by an Executive Director and an executive committee, with representatives from each of the association's class divisions. Louisiana Sports Hall Of Fame
The Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame is located in the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame & Northwest Louisiana History Museum – Natchitoches in a new facility in the downtown historic district in Natchitoches, Louisiana. After years of planning and construction, the LHOF opened on June 28, 2013. Lieutenant Governor Jay Dardenne, whose office handles state tourism matters, was on hand for the grand opening. The museum had been fifty-five years in search of a permanent home. Many of the artifacts had previously been stored at Prather Coliseum on the campus of Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. Because of Hurricane Katrina there had been fear that the proposed museum would be deleted from approved projects in 2005 by the Louisiana Bond Commission. Ladelle Andrews Hamilton Jr. (born April 8, 1950) is a former American football wide receiver who played three seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the Kansas City Chiefs and New Orleans Saints. He was drafted by the Chiefs in the fourth round of the 1972 NFL Draft. He played college football at Louisiana State University. Frederick Rudolph Dean (February 24, 1952 – October 14, 2020) was an American professional football player who was a defensive end in the National Football League (NFL). Kentrell Montez Brice (born August 11, 1994) is an American football strong safety for the DC Defenders of the XFL. He played college football at Louisiana Tech and signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2016.
