Rustic Period
''Rustic Period'' (), lit. ''The Age of Wild Men'', is a South Korean television series aired from July 29, 2002 to September 30, 2003 on SBS. It focused on the life of historical figure Kim Du-han, a former mob leader turned politician, and the tumultuous modern history of Korea from the Japanese occupation to Park Chung-hee regime. The show aired on SBS on Mondays to Tuesdays at 22:00 for 124 episodes beginning July 29, 2002, and still remains as one of the highest-rated television shows in Korean broadcast history. Syngman Rhee
Syngman Rhee (, ; 26 March 1875 – 19 July 1965) was a South Korean politician who served as the first president of South Korea from 1948 to 1960. Rhee was also the first and last president of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea from 1919 to his impeachment in 1925 and from 1947 to 1948. Lee Ki-bung
Lee Ki-poong (20 December 1896 – 28 April 1960) was a South Korean politician and Vice President. He was the Minister of National Defense (May 7, 1951 – March 29, 1952) and Mayor of Seoul (June 6, 1949 – May 7, 1951). He was the leader of Liberal Party and supporter of Syngman Rhee (as a President). The Liberal Party held power from 1948 to 1960. On March 15, 1960, South Korea held a presidential election.
