The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation (MFA Russia; russian: Министерство иностранных дел Российской Федерации, МИД РФ) is the central government institution charged with leading the foreign policy and foreign relations of Russia. It is a continuation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, which was under the supervision of the Soviet Ministry of External Relations. The Collegium of Foreign Affairs (russian: Коллегия иностранных дел или иностранная коллегия Российской империи) was a Collegium (ministry), collegium of the Russian Empire responsible for foreign policy from 1717 to 1832. The Collegium of Foreign Affairs was created by Peter the Great as part of Government reform of Peter I, his government reforms to replace the existing Ambassadorial Prikaz, with Fyodor Alexeyevich Golovin, Fyodor Golovin as its first President. Eleonora Valentinovna Mitrofanova (russian: Элеонора Валентиновна Митрофанова; born 11 June 1953) is a Russian diplomat. Aleksandr Alekseyevich Avdeyev (russian: link=no, Александр Алексеевич Авдеев; born 8 September 1946 in Kremenchuk, Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic) is a Russian and Soviet politician and diplomat. Igor Sergeyevich Ivanov (born 23 September 1945) is a Russian politician who was Foreign Minister of Russia from 1998 to 2004 under both the Yeltsin and the Putin administrations. Anatoly Leonidovich Adamishin (russian: link=no, Анатолий Леонидович Адамишин) (born 11 October 1934) is a Russian diplomat, politician and businessman. RIA Novosti (russian: РИА Новости), sometimes referred to as RIAN () or RIA (russian: РИА, label=none) is a Russian state-owned domestic news agency. On 9 December 2013 by a decree of Vladimir Putin it was liquidated and its assets and workforce were transferred to the newly created Rossiya Segodnya agency.
