Russian Junior Figure Skating Championships
The Russian Junior Figure Skating Championships (russian: Первенство России по фигурному катанию среди юниоров) are organized annually by the Figure Skating Federation of Russia to determine the country's junior-level national champions. The competition is held generally at the end of January or the beginning of February. Medals are awarded in four disciplines: men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. Figure Skating Federation Of Russia
The Figure Skating Federation of Russia (russian: Федерация фигурного катания на коньках России, lit. ''Figure Skating on Skates Federation of Russia'') is the national sport governing body for figure skating in Russia. It is recognized as such by Russian Olympic Committee and by the International Skating Union (ISU). No individual membership exists, and its members are in various ice sports associations. It was founded in 1992 as the successor of the Figure Skating Federation of the USSR (Soviet Union). The goals of this governing body are: taking a plan of competitions by the calendar, developing a curriculum for figure skating in Russia, forming a national team, making contracts with sportsmen and coaches, international relations with other skating organizations, assistance to regional federations, organizing the Rostelecom Cup (formerly the Cup of Russia) and other important events. Sergei Voronov (figure Skater)
Sergei Evgenyevich Voronov (russian: Серге́й Евгеньевич Воронов; born October 3, 1987) is a retired Russian figure skater. He is the 2017 ISU Grand Prix NHK Trophy winner, a two-time European medalist (2014 silver, 2015 bronze), the 2014–15 Grand Prix Final bronze medalist, a two-time World Junior medalist (2006 silver, 2007 bronze), and a two-time Russian national champion (2008, 2009). Personal life Sergei Evgenyevich Voronov was born in 1987 in Moscow. The International Skating Union gives October as his month of birth while the Russian skating federation lists November. Career Early years Voronov began skating in 1991. He broke his collarbone two years later while skating. Alexander Sergeyevich Uspenski (russian: Александр Серге́евич Успенский; born 25 April 1987) is a Russian former competitive figure skater. He is the 2006 Finlandia Trophy silver medalist and 2004 ISU Junior Grand Prix Final bronze medalist. Personal life Alexander Uspenski was born on 25 April 1987 in Moscow. He is the elder brother of Vladimir Uspenski, who also competed in figure skating. Career Alexander Uspenski began competing on the ISU Junior Grand Prix (JGP) circuit in 2001. Over the course of five seasons, he would win seven medals – three gold, two silver, and two bronze – and qualify three times to the ISU Junior Grand Prix Final. Denis Alexandrovich Leushin (russian: Денис Александрович Леушин; born 25 July 1985) is a Russian former competitive figure skater. He placed 13th at the 2004 World Junior Championships in The Hague and won gold at the 2010 Golden Spin of Zagreb. After retiring from competition, he began working as a coach in Russia. Andrei Lutai
Andrei Vladimirovich Lutai (russian: Андрей Владимирович Лутай; born 24 July 1986) is a Russian former competitive figure skater. He is the 2006 Karl Schäfer Memorial champion, 2006 International Cup of Nice champion, and a three-time Russian national medalist (2007 & 2008 silver; 2009 bronze). He placed as high as 5th at the European Championships (2007) and 10th at the World Championships (2009). Career Lutai began skating in 1992 and was coached by his sister in his early years. After the rink in Belgorod closed, he moved to Samara for one year, and then to Saint Petersburg in 2001 after his sister asked Alexei Mishin to take him in his group.
