Russian Corvette Sovershennyy
''Sovershennyy'' (russian: Совершенный, , Perfect) is a corvette in the ''Steregushchy''-class in service with the Russian Navy. The ship was laid down in 2006 and launched in 2015. She commenced sea trials in early 2017 and joined the Russian Pacific Fleet on 20 July 2017. She was the first large surface warship to join the Pacific Fleet in 25 years. Between 3 and 10 June 2022, ''Sovershennyy'', along with destroyer ''Admiral Panteleyev'', corvettes ''Gromkiy'', ''Aldar Tsydenzhapov'' and intelligence ship ''Marshal Krylov'', took part in naval exercises in the Pacific Ocean. Amur Shipbuilding Plant
OJSC Amur Shipbuilding Plant (russian: Амурский судостроительный завод, ''Amurskiy Sudostroitelnyy Zavod'', and also called the "Leninskiy Komsomol Shipyard") is an important shipyard in eastern Russia, based in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, and founded in 1932. It employs 15,000 people, and produces both civilian and military ships, including nuclear submarines. Around 97 submarines (56 nuclear-powered and 41 conventional) as well as 36 warships were built at the yard. The shipyard started building nuclear submarines in 1957, with the first one completed in 1960. Submarines built at the Amur Shipbuilding plant include Delta I class ballistic missile submarines, Echo I and II class cruise missile submarines and ''Akula''-class attack submarines. CODAD
Combined diesel and diesel (CODAD) is a propulsion system for ships using two diesel engines to power a single propeller shaft. A gearbox and clutches enable either of the engines or both of them together to drive the shaft. Two advantages over simply using a single, larger diesel engine of the same total power output are that (1) diesel engines have somewhat better specific fuel consumption at 75% to 85% max output than they do at only 50% output, and (2) there is a weight and size advantage to using two higher-speed engines compared to a single lower-speed engine, even with the slightly larger gearbox system. RIA Novosti (russian: РИА Новости), sometimes referred to as RIAN () or RIA (russian: РИА, label=none) is a Russian state-owned domestic news agency. The Kamov Ka-27 (NATO reporting name 'Helix') is a military helicopter developed for the Soviet Navy, and currently in service in various countries including Russia, Ukraine, Vietnam, China, South Korea, and India. Variants include the Ka-29 assault transport, the Ka-28 downgraded export version, and the Ka-32 for civilian use. Design and development The helicopter was developed for ferrying and anti-submarine warfare. Design work began in 1969 and the first prototype flew in 1973. It was intended to replace the decade-old Kamov Ka-25, and had to have identical or inferior external dimensions compared to its predecessor. The ''Steregushchiy'' class (russian: Стерегущий, , Guarding), Russian designation Project 20380, is a class of corvettes being built for the Russian Navy. ''Gromkiy'' is a of the Russian Navy. Development and design The ''Steregushchiy''-class corvettes have a steel hull and composite material superstructure, with a bulbous bow and nine watertight subdivisions. They have a combined bridge and command centre, and space and weight provision for eight SS-N-25 missiles. Stealth technology was widely used during construction of the ships, as well as 21 patents and 14 new computer programs. Newest physical field reduction solutions were applied too. As a result, designers considerably reduced the ship's radar signature thanks to hull architecture and fire-resistant radar-absorbent fiberglass applied in tophamper's design.
