Russell Smith is a former rugby league referee who now administers and coaches match officials. Smith controlled his first Rugby Football League Championship match on 9 September 1990, a match between Featherstone Rovers and Hull Kingston Rovers. His first international was between Australia and New Zealand on 20 June 1993. He controlled matches in the 1995 and 2000 Rugby League World Cups, as well as five Challenge Cup finals. In 2004 he was named the international referee of the year. He moved to Australia in 2005, becoming a National Rugby League referee. He retired at the end of the 2006 NRL season. Russell Smith (July 13, 1822 – May 10, 1866) was an American politician. Smith was born on July 13, 1822. He entered Yale College from Norfolk, Virginia and graduated in 1842. He studied in the Yale Law School, and was admitted to the bar in Sept., 1843. In the spring of 1844 he entered upon the practice of law in N. Y. City, and continued in it until 1852, when he removed to Yonkers, N. Y. He afterward devoted himself only occasionally to his profession. In 1852 he was elected to the Legislature of N. Y. Howard Russell Smith (June 17, 1949 – July 12, 2019) was an American singer and songwriter. He was the lead singer of the groups The Amazing Rhythm Aces and Run C&W. As a solo artist, he released four studio albums and charted five singles on the ''Billboard'' Hot Country Singles chart between 1984 and 1989. Early life and career Smith was born in Nashville and grew up in Lafayette, Tennessee. The Amazing Rhythm Aces were formed in 1972 with Smith as lead singer. The band recorded six studio albums for ABC Records before disbanding in 1981.
