Russell Brown (May 30, 1892 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – October 19, 1964 in Englewood, New Jersey) was an American Tony Award-winning actor of stage and film. Brown, a stage actor for decades, is best remembered by audiences as Captain Brackett in '' South Pacific'', which he repeated in the movie version, and for his performances as "Benny Van Buren" in the stage/film version of ''Damn Yankees'' in 1958, and the following year as park caretaker George Lemon in the classic courtroom drama, ''Anatomy of a Murder'' (1959). Russell Leslie Brown (born 17 September 1951) is a Scottish Labour Party politician. He is a former Member of Parliament (MP) for Dumfriesshire (1997–2005) and Dumfries and Galloway (2005–2015). He lost his seat at the 2015 general election to Richard Arkless of the Scottish National Party. * Early years Russell Brown was born in Annan, Scotland, and attended the local Annan Academy. Russell Brown (December 11, 1911 – October 19, 1971) was a political figure in Saskatchewan. He represented Last Mountain from 1952 to 1964 as a Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF) member and Souris-Estevan in 1971 as a New Democratic Party (NDP) member in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan. He was born in Fort William, Ontario, the son of Ernest Albert Brown and Hetty McKeen, and was educated in Saskatchewan, in England and in the United States. From 1931 to 1940, he was a grain buyer for the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool. In 1933, he married Edith May Cummings; he later married his second wife Lorie following Edith's death. Brown served in the Canadian Army during World War II. From 1946 to 1949, he was an auditor for the Saskatchewan Department of Co-operation and Co-operative Development. The Rt Rev Russel Featherstone Brown (also spelled Russell; 7 January 1900 - 7 January 1988) was an eminent Anglican priest, who became the eighth Bishop of Quebec. Educated at Bishop's University, Lennoxville and ordained in 1933, his first post was a curacy at Christ Church Cathedral, Montreal. After this he was Priest in Charge of Fort St. John, British Columbia and then Rector of Sherbrooke until 1954 when he became Archdeacon of Quebec - a post he held until his elevation to the episcopate. After 11 years he resigned to teach in Papua New Guinea. Russell S. Brown (born September 15, 1965) is a Puisne judge, puisne justice of the Supreme Court of Canada. He was nominated by Prime Minister of Canada, Prime Minister Stephen Harper to replace outgoing justice Marshall Rothstein and has been serving in the role since August 31, 2015. Prior to his appointment to the Supreme Court, he was a justice at the Court of Appeal of Alberta, Alberta Court of Appeal, and before that a law professor at the University of Alberta. Russell Wolf Brown (born March 6, 1985) is a former American professional athlete who competed in the 1 mile and 1500 meter events. Early life and high school Raised in Hanover, New Hampshire, Brown began running track events at age ten. He attended Hanover High School where he initially played lacrosse, soccer, and ice hockey. He won the 800 m at Hershey's National Final in 1999 and both the 3200 m relay and 800 m at USATF Junior Olympics in 2001. He anchored the 3200m Relay to wins at the USATF Junior Olympics in 2001, 2002 and 2003. Russell's 800 m split in the 2003 race was 1:49. In his sophomore year he was recruited by the cross country team. He began to focus exclusively on running after being impressed with the mature attitudes toward competition that he saw on the track team.
