Rupe Hiskins
Rupert Ernest "Rupe" Hiskins (29 October 1893 – 9 March 1976) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Carlton in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Hiskins, one of 14 siblings, had three elder brothers that played in the VFL, Arthur, Fred and Stan. He served with the Light Horse Brigade during the First World War. Already 26 by the time he debuted in 1920, Hiskins played five seasons at Carlton, usually in the ruck, resting on the half back flank and wing. Rutherglen is a small town in north-eastern Victoria, Australia, near the Murray River border with New South Wales. Brunswick Football Club was an Australian rules football club which played in the Victorian Football League, Victorian Football Association (VFA) from 1897 until 1991. Based in Brunswick, Victoria, for most of their time in the Association they were known as the Magpies, and wore black and white guernseys. In its final two seasons in the VFA, it was known as Brunswick-Broadmeadows. History Brunswick Football Club was formed in 1865 and joined the VFA in the 1897 season. The Rutherglen Football and Netball Club is an Australian rules football and netball club playing their home games in Rutherglen, Victoria, Australia. The current Rutherglen FNC was created after the merger of Ovens & Murray Football League sides Rutherglen Football Club (1893), Rutherglen and Corowa Football Club, Corowa in 1979.
