''Bit.Trip Presents... Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien'', generally shortened as ''Runner2'', is a 2013 side-scrolling platformer developed by Gaijin Games. The game is the direct sequel to '' Bit.Trip Runner'' and has been released as a downloadable title available on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360 and Wii U consoles, Microsoft Windows, OS X, Linux and on iOS. The PC, Mac, Linux, and Wii U versions were self-published by Gaijin Games, and the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions were published by Aksys Games. Cutscenes and menus are narrated by Charles Martinet. While ''Runner2'' has a lot in common with its predecessor, its polygonal graphics mark a significant departure from past entries in the Bit.Trip series. The studio was founded in 2007 by Alex Neuse, Mike Roush, and Chris Osborn and is located in Santa Cruz, California. History Gaijin Games initially emerged in 2004. The founder, Alex Neuse, had been employed at LucasArts since 1997, but after the project he had been working on was cancelled, Neuse decided that he wanted greater creative freedom, which spurred him to create his own studio. However, the company was unable to acquire sufficient funds or support from a publisher, and all of its development endeavors were halted indefinitely when Neuse was offered the position of creative director at Santa Cruz Games. Charles Martinet (, ; born September 17, 1955) is an American actor and voice actor, known for his portrayal of both Mario and Luigi in the ''Super Mario'' video game series since 1992. He is also the voice of other characters in the series such as Wario, Waluigi, Baby Mario, and Baby Luigi. Early life Martinet is of French descent and speaks fluent French and Spanish. His family moved to Barcelona when he was 12 years old, and later to Paris. He attended the American School of Paris and graduated in 1974. Martinet attended the University of California, Berkeley, where he originally intended to study international law. Richard Vreeland (born June 29, 1986), better known by his stage name Disasterpeace, is an American composer and musician. He first got started in music after learning the guitar in high school and started writing music around the age of 17. Known for his work as a chiptune artist, Vreeland has scored many video games, including ''Fez'' and ''Hyper Light Drifter''. He stepped into film score composition with the 2015 film ''It Follows'', and has since composed the scores for ''Under the Silver Lake'', ''Triple Frontier'', and ''Bodies Bodies Bodies''. Childhood Vreeland's first introduction to music was as a child, growing up in Staten Island. He spent a great deal of time learning from his step-father, who was a trained musician. Off-TV Play is a feature of Nintendo's eighth-generation video game console, the Wii U.
