Runde Rural District Council
Runde Rural District Council is Zvishavane Rural District local government arm taking care of the rural district while Zvishavane Town Council administers the urban district. Zvishavane District has two local government arms, Zvishavane Town Council created under the Zimbabwe Urban Councils Act, Chapter 29.15 and Runde RDC created in terms of the Zimbabwe Rural District Councils Act, Chapter 29.13. Background Runde RDC is one of the 8 rural district councils in the Midlands Province of Zimbabwe. Its name derives from Runde River. Midlands RDCs
The Midlands (also referred to as Central England) are a part of England that broadly correspond to the Kingdom of Mercia of the Early Middle Ages, bordered by Wales, Northern England and Southern England. The Midlands were important in the Industrial Revolution of the 18th and 19th centuries. They are split into the West Midlands and East Midlands. Zvishavane District
Zvishavane District is one of the eight districts in Midlands Province of Zimbabwe. It has Mberengwa District to the south and Shurugwi District to the north. Its capital is Zvishavane town. Economy Zvishavane District is home of Zvishavane Town which developed from an asbestos mine compound into a town. See Shabanie Mashaba Mine. It is also home to Murowa Diamond Mine located in Mazvihwa, 40 km from Zvishavane Town. Runde River
The Runde River (formerly Lundi River) is a river in southeastern Zimbabwe. It is a tributary of the Save River and its major tributaries include the Ngezi River, Tokwe River, Mutirikwe River and Chiredzi River. Characteristics and geography The lower Runde River is an ephemeral sand river system, with permanent pools forming during the dry season. The river has generally low levels of pollution. The floodplain at the confluence with the Save River is an important wetland.
