Run With Us
"Run With Us" is the end theme song for the 1980s television series ''The Raccoons''. It was written by Kevin Gillis, Jon Stroll and Steve Lunt. The song was originally recorded by Steve Lunt for the first season in 1985 but was later covered by and is more associated with Lisa Lougheed and included on her first album ''Evergreen Nights'', as well as being heard at the end of every ''Raccoons'' episode from the second season until the series ended in 1991. The song featured in several episodes of the series. Lunt's version is set to be released in a remastered form from the original tapes alongside a remaster of Lougheed's cover as part of the show's 40th anniversary. Lisa Lougheed
Lisa Dawn Lougheed (; ; born September 9, 1968) is a Canadian former singer, dancer, voice actress, and songwriter. She is likely best known for her role in the animated television series ''The Raccoons'', where she performed for the soundtrack and voiced Lisa Raccoon. Early life Lougheed was born to mixed race parents; her father is a Scottish- Irish mix from Northern Ontario and her mother is a Black Nova Scotian with ties to North Preston and Guysborough. Lougheed's peers often mistook her mother for a maid. Lougheed started tap dancing at three years old. She was a dance major at the Etobicoke School of the Arts as a teenager, where she learned ballet, modern dance, and highland dancing. While still in high-school, Lougheed spent three summers as a lead vocalist and dancer in musical revue style shows at Canada's Wonderland, where she sang such solo numbers as "Home" from ''The Wiz'' and "Le Jazz Hot!" from '' Victor/Victoria''. Rod Thomas (stage name Bright Light Bright Light) is a Welsh independent singer-songwriter, based in New York. Bright Light Bright Light incorporates many elements of nu-disco into his music, also branching into synthpop, dance and house music. Two of his albums have reached the top 20 on the UK Independent Albums Chart. Career 1982-2009: Early years Thomas grew up in a small village near Neath, Wales, and learned several instruments as a child, including piano. His first forays into music were more folk-based, led by acoustic guitar with, due to a lack of equipment, minimal beats around it. Thomas later stated his dalliance with folk was due to his lack of knowledge with production techniques, and that he was always drawn to house and synthpop. He left Wales to take a place reading English literature and creative writing at Warwick University, then made the move to London. Spray (duo)
Spray is a synth-pop duo from Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England, consisting of siblings Jenny McLaren and Ricardo Autobahn. Following the demise of their previous band, the Cuban Boys (famous for their Hampster Dance record and John Peel sessions), McLaren and Autobahn released the album ''Living In Neon'' on Ninthwave Records in the United States. This was followed in 2003 by the extended single "I Am Gothic". A new album, ''Children of a Laser God'' was released online in 2006, along with the single "Run With Us", a cover of the theme tune of the popular 1980's cartoon ''The Raccoons'' with the "Michael Trenfield" remix as the main single accompanied with the original version and remixes from JKZ, Absorb, FMU and Diskowarp. Matt Fishel is a British singer, songwriter, music producer and record label owner. He plays guitar, piano, bass and keyboards. He grew up in Nottingham in the East Midlands in the late 1990s, going on to study Music and Performing Arts at Paul McCartney's Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) in the early 2000s, before moving to London, UK, where he currently lives.
