Maharagama Urban Council
Maharagama Urban Council ( si, මහරගම නගර සභාව, ta, மகாரகம நகர சபை) is the local authority for Maharagama and surrounding suburbs in Sri Lanka. The Council is responsible for providing a variety of local public services including public health and sanitation, road maintenance, garbage disposal, libraries, public parks and recreational facilities. Hokandara
Hokandara is a suburb of Colombo. It is located approximately from the city centre of Colombo, adjacent to Thalawathugoda to the west, Pelawatte on the north-west, Malabe on the north, Aturugiriya on the east and Pannipitiya on the south. Southern Expressway (Sri Lanka)
The Southern Expressway ( si, දක්ෂිණ ලංකා අධිවේගි මාර්ගය, Dakśina Laṃkā adhivēgi mārgaya; ta, தென்னிலங்கை அதிவேக நெடுஞ்சாலை) is Sri Lanka's first E Class highway. The highway links the Sri Lankan capital Colombo with Galle, Matara, Sri Lanka, Matara and Hambantota, major cities in the south of the island. Homagama is a town in the Colombo District, Sri Lanka, about south-east of Colombo. Kottawa
Kottawa ( si, කොට්ටාව, ta, கொட்டாவை) is one of the main suburbs in Colombo, Sri Lanka and is administered by the Maharagama Urban Council. It is located from the centre of Colombo. History The name Kottawa is derived from the Sinhalese phrase ''kotten awa'', meaning "The city of greats". Later the name was shortened to "Kottawa". The town was part of the Kottawa Electoral District which existed between 1960 and 1977.
