Ruisui, Hualien
Ruisui Township is a rural township located in southern Hualien County, Taiwan, and has a population of 12,107 inhabitants in 11 villages. The population is composed of Hoklo, Hakka, and Taiwanese aborigines, most of whom are Amis. Agriculture and tourism are major industries. Taitung Line
The Taitung Line (), also known as the Hua-Tung line (), is the southern section of the Eastern Line of the Taiwan Railways Administration. The line starts at the Hualien station and ends at the Taitung station. It is 161.5 km long, including the main segment of 155.7 km between Hualien and Taitung. The coastal branch lines of Hualien and Taitung were discarded after the broadening plan in 1982. The broadcasts of the station names on Taitung line are made in five languages: Mandarin, Taiwanese Hokkien, Hakka, English, and Amis. Rareseed Ranch
The Rareseed Ranch or Ruisui Ranch () is a tourist attraction ranch in Wuhe Village, Ruisui Township, Hualien County, Taiwan. History The ranch was originally a papaya farm. It was then later transformed into a ranch. Milk produced by cows in the ranch is distributed around Taiwan by Uni-President Enterprises Corporation. Geology The ranch land is very fertile due to the fresh water supply from the Central Mountain Range. Architecture The ranch consists of dining area and outdoor café. Ruisui Tropic Of Cancer Marker
The Ruisui Tropic of Cancer Marker () is a monument marking the Tropic of Cancer in Ruisui Township, Hualien County, Taiwan. History The monument was originally constructed in 1933 west of Ruisui Railway Station. Due to the Hualien–Taitung line tracks replacement work carried out in 1981, the monument had to be relocated to Wuhe Terrace and placed along the Provincial Highway 9. Geology At noon on 22 June every year, the monument shows no shadow due to the position of the sun exactly above it. Transportation The monument is accessible within walking distance south of Ruisui Station of Taiwan Railways. Saoba Stone Pillars
Saoba Stone Pillars (), as known as Wuhe Stone Pillars (), is an archaeological site at Wuhe Village, Ruisui Township, Hualien County, Taiwan. History The stone pillar are artifacts from Beinan culture since Stone Age era around 2,000-3,000 years ago. The site was then classified as 3rd grade national historic monument by the Ministry of the Interior. Geology The stones stand along the Wuhe Terrace. The site consists of two adjacent stone pillars standing with 5.75 meters and 3.99 meters of height. It is located in an oval area with 600 meters in length and 400 meters in width. Transportation The site is accessible south of Ruisui Station of Taiwan Railways.
