Rugged Bear
''Rugged Bear'' is a 1953 American animated short film produced by Walt Disney Productions and released by RKO Radio Pictures. The cartoon follows Humphrey the Bear (in his 2nd appearance) as he takes refuge in Donald Duck's cabin during hunting season by disguising himself as a bearskin rug. The film was directed by Jack Hannah and features the voices of Clarence Nash as Donald, Jimmy MacDonald as Humphrey, and an uncredited narrator. ''Rugged Bear'' was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film at the 26th Academy Awards in 1954, but lost to another Disney film, ''Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom''. Jack Hannah
John Frederick Hannah (January 5, 1913 – June 11, 1994) was an American animator, writer and director of animated shorts. Biography Hannah was born on January 5, 1913, in Nogales, Arizona. He moved to Los Angeles, California, Los Angeles in 1931 to study at the Art Guild Academy. One of his first jobs was designing movie posters for Hollywood theaters. In 1933, during the Great Depression, Hannah dropped off his portfolio at List of assets owned by Disney#Studio Entertainment, Walt Disney Studios, and soon afterward was hired as an in-between and clean-up artist, working on Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Silly Symphony cartoons. Hannah's career as an animator commenced with the short ''Modern Inventions'' (released on May 29, 1937). The Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film is an award given by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) as part of the annual Academy Awards, or Oscars, since the 5th Academy Awards (with different names), covering the year 1931–32, to the present. ''Grin and Bear It'' is a 1954 Disney animated short featuring Donald Duck, It is the third appearance of Humphrey the Bear, and marks the debut of Ranger J. Audubon Woodlore. Plot Donald Duck is on his way to Brownstone National Park to have "fun, fun, fun". Meanwhile, the park ranger gathers all the bears and assigns each of them to associate with a park visitor; any bear who commits a crime in the park will suffer "the supreme penalty" (i.e., being executed and made into a bearskin rug). When all the bears pick their visitor, Humphrey is stuck with Donald. At first, he attempts to earn some of Donald's food by dancing but to no avail. ''Bearly Asleep'' is a 1955 CinemaScope Disney animated short featuring Donald Duck, who appears as a park ranger, with Humphrey the Bear. Plot After the park guests leave for the winter, Donald and the bears all wave goodbye, except for Humphrey, who is asleep on a hammock. He and all the bears reside in their cave for their winter hibernation, but Humphrey is being annoyingly loud. After getting a glass of water from Donald's house, he is just about to go inside when Humphrey yells, "OW! Humphrey pinched me!" ''In the Bag'' is a 1956 American animated short comedy film produced by Walt Disney Productions, directed by Jack Hannah, and featuring park ranger J. Audubon Woodlore and his comedic foil Humphrey the Bear. This was the last Disney theatrical cartoon short subject distributed by RKO Radio Pictures. Plot Tourists have departed Brownstone National Park where Humphrey lives, leaving trash everywhere, despite signs asking tourists not to litter the park. The park ranger initially starts to pick it up himself, but then decides that he should not have to do it because he is the boss. He then calls Humphrey and the other resident bears and asks them to "put it in the bag", while singing and dancing to a catchy song. ''Hooked Bear'' is a 1956 short film in the '' Humphrey the Bear'' series. Plot Fishing season has begun and park ranger J. Audubon Woodlore goes out on the lake to check on the anglers. Humphrey the Bear is trying to catch some fish, but cannot seem to hold onto one once he catches it. Woodlore sees the fish disappearing before his eyes, so he decides to stock the lake with some more. As he heads to the fish hatchery, he sees Humphrey with a few fishing nets and rods, and asks him what he is doing. When the bear tells him that he is going to catch some fish, Woodlore takes the rods and nets and tells him to "Go fish like a bear!" At the hatchery, Woodlore selects an envelope of fish eggs from a collection of eggs. He fills a tub with water and inserts the eggs into it. ''Good Morning, Mickey!'' is an American animated television series produced by Walt Disney Television Animation. It was first aired on April 18, 1983 when Disney Channel was launched. It was one of the Disney Channel's first original programs, and the first program to air at the channel's launch.''The Disney Channel Magazine'', April/May 1983 (Premiere Issue), pp. 6, 14.
