The , currently known as for sponsorship reasons, is a multi-purpose stadium in Chōfu, Tokyo, Japan. The stadium was founded at Kantō Mura, the redevelopment area formerly used by United States Forces Japan, in March 2001. It was the first stadium in Japan that sold its naming rights, which went to Ajinomoto Co., Inc. on a five-year, 1.2 billion Japanese yen, yen (about 10 million United States dollar, U.S. dollars) contract from March 2003 to February 2008 to name it Ajinomoto Stadium. 2019 Oceania Sevens Championship
The 2019 Oceania Sevens Championship was the twelfth Oceania Sevens tournament in men's rugby sevens. It served as the regional qualifier for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Sevens and was held at ANZ Stadium in Suva, Fiji on 7–9 November. A competition for deaf teams was also included as part of the 2019 Oceania Sevens. Australia won the main men's tournament to claim their fourth Oceania Championship, defeating Fiji by 22–7 in the final. As the highest-placed side not already qualified, Australia also won the Oceania berth at the 2020 Olympic Sevens in Tokyo. Samoa and Tonga finished fourth and fifth respectively and, as the second and third highest-placed sides not already qualified, won entry to the 2020 Final Olympic Qualifier. Ngarohi McGarvey-Black (born 20 May 1996) is a New Zealand professional rugby union player who plays as a wing for National Provincial Championship club Bay of Plenty and the New Zealand national sevens team. International career McGarvey-Black made his New Zealand men's sevens debut in Las Vegas in 2018. In 2020 he was named New Zealand Rugby Players Association (NZRPA) Players' Player of the Year. William Warbrick (born 6 March 1998) is a New Zealand professional rugby league footballer who plays for the Melbourne Storm in the National Rugby League. Try (rugby)
A try is a way of scoring points in rugby union and rugby league football. A try is scored by grounding the ball in the opposition's in-goal area (on or behind the goal line). Rugby union and league differ slightly in defining "grounding the ball" and the "in-goal" area. In rugby union a try is worth 5 points, and in rugby league a try is worth 4 points. The term "try" comes from "try at goal", signifying that grounding the ball originally only gave the attacking team the opportunity to try to score with a kick at goal. A try is analogous to a touchdown in American and Canadian football, with the major difference being that a try requires the ball be simultaneously touching the ground and an attacking player, whereas a touchdown merely requires that the ball enter the airspace above the "end zone" while in the possession of an opposing player. 2020 Men's Rugby Sevens Final Olympic Qualification Tournament
The final qualification repechage tournament for men's rugby sevens at the 2020 Summer Olympics was held on 18–20 June 2021 at Stade Louis II in Monaco. The tournament was originally scheduled for a year earlier, but was postponed until 2021 due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Twelve men's teams were eligible to compete in the repechage tournament, being the second and third ranked teams from the six continental qualifiers. Two teams, Brazil and China, withdrew a month before the competition due to challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. A third team, Uganda, had to withdraw after members of their squad recorded positive COVID-19 test results on arrival in Monaco. This reduced the number of teams competing to nine.
