Rugby Union Players' Association
The Rugby Union Players' Association (RUPA) is the representative body for professional rugby union players in Australia. It was formed in October 1995 in response to the professionalism of rugby. As soon as a player signs a Rugby contract in Australia they are offered the chance to become a RUPA member regardless of nationality. , all of Australia's professional and semi-professional Rugby players were RUPA members, including male and female professionals across Rugby Sevens and 15-a-side Rugby, totalling approximately 400 players. RUPA also provides support services for all past (retired) professional Rugby players. Rod McCall
Roderick James McCall (born 20 September 1963, in Brisbane) is a former Australian rugby union lock. McCall played for Australia from 1989 to 1995, including winning the 1991 Rugby World Cup. He played 40 times in total for Australia. He played 107 times for the Queensland Reds. McCall made his début for Australia at age 25 on 4 November 1989 in a game against the French, the game was won by Australia, 32 points to 15 in Strasbourg. McCall played in all of Australia's matches at the 1991 World Cup, and after winning all of their pool games and then defeating the All Blacks in the semi-finals, Australia won the World Cup against England in the final. He played his final two tests in Australia against Argentina, winning both games in Sydney and Brisbane, before heading over to South Africa for the 1995 Rugby World Cup. Brumbies
The ACT Brumbies (known from 2005–2022 as simply the Brumbies) is an Australian professional rugby union team based in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory (ACT), The team competes in Super Rugby and named for the brumby, feral horses which inhabit the capital's hinterland. The team represents the ACT, as well as the Far South Coast and Southern Inland regions of New South Wales (NSW). Patrick Phibbs
Patrick Phibbs (born 16 October 1981) is an Australian Professional Rugby Union player currently based in Reading with London Irish. Career Phibbs played his junior Rugby with Randwick DRUFC in the Sydney club competition. He represented Australia in the Under 19s squad and the National Sevens squad between 2001 and 2004. Shannon Michelle Parry (born 27 October 1989) is an Australian female rugby union player. She won a gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio. Parry plays for and was a member of the squad to the 2010 Women's Rugby World Cup that finished in third place. She was in the squad to the 2013 Rugby World Cup Sevens as defending champions. Parry was in 's 2014 Women's Rugby World Cup squad. Gemma Etheridge
Gemma Etheridge (born 1 December 1986) is a semi-professional Australian Rugby Union player. She represents Australia in Sevens Rugby. Born in Tamworth, New South Wales and playing for The Tribe at a club level, she debuted for Australia in November 2012. She won a gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio. Edward Jenkins (born 26 May 1986) is the former captain of the Australia national rugby sevens team that competes in the IRB Sevens World Series. The most experienced campaigner in the youthful Australian Sevens squad, Jenkins is one of Australia's most capped sevens players. Jenkins went to Saint Ignatius' College, Riverview in Sydney. Jenkins helped end Australia's eight-year title drought on the world circuit at the 2010 London Sevens, scoring a try against Argentina in the semi-final on the way to Australia's first tournament win on the circuit since the 2002 Brisbane Sevens. Michael Harris (born 8 July 1988) is a professional rugby union football player for Pau in the Top 14. He has also been capped ten times for Australia. Harris began his career in 2007 with North Harbour in New Zealand's ITM Cup before moving to Australia in 2011. James Slipper
James Slipper (born 6 June 1989) is an Australian rugby union player who plays at prop. Slipper formerly captained the Queensland Reds, now playing for ACT Brumbies. Slipper made his debut during the 2010 Super 14 season. In June 2010 Slipper came on as a substitute in Australia's victory over England, earning his first international cap. Early life Slipper was born and raised on the Gold Coast, Queensland. He first played junior rugby for the Bond Pirates in the local Gold Coast competition, before dedicating his weekends to playing for The Southport School (TSS) in the prestigious GPS schools competition.
