Rugby Sevens At The 2015 Pacific Games
Rugby sevens at the 2015 Pacific Games was held from 8–10 July at the Sir John Guise Stadium. In the men's tournament Fiji won the gold medal defeating defending champions Samoa by a 26 point margin in the final. Tonga took the bronze medal. Fiji also won the women's tournament, defeating Australia by a successful try conversion in the final, with hosts Papua New Guinea winning the bronze medal. Sir John Guise Stadium
The Sir John Guise Stadium is a multi-sport and Sport of athletics, athletics venue located in Port Moresby, the capital city of Papua New Guinea, and is part of the larger Sir John Guise Sports Precinct which also includes an indoor arena, beach volleyball/hockey court, and aquatics center. The stadium is named after John Guise (governor-general), Sir John Guise, the first Governor-General of Papua New Guinea. History Foundation The stadium was opened in 1991 to host the 1991 South Pacific Games, South Pacific Games that year. The stadium had an original capacity of approximately 5,000 spectators. Redevelopment On 27 September 2009, Papua New Guinea was chosen to host the 2015 Pacific Games. Jasa Veremalua
Jasa Veremalua (born 29 May 1988) is a Fijian rugby union player who plays for the Tel Aviv Heat. He played for San Diego Legion in Major League Rugby (MLR). He also plays for the Fiji sevens team. Veremalua made his debut for at the 2013 Wellington Sevens. He is from Korotogo Village in the Nadroga Navosa Province. Youth and early career Jasa Veremalua was born and raised in Korotogo, Baravi, Nadroga and he started his career playing rugby in the local 7's competition. Iafeta Iakopo "Feka" Paleaaesina (born 10 February 1983) is a New Zealand former rugby league footballer. He played as a for the New Zealand Warriors in the NRL, and for the Wigan Warriors, Salford City Reds and Hull F.C. in the Super League.
