Rufus Guthrie
Dallas Rufus Guthrie (c. 1942 – 2000) was an American football player who played for the Georgia Institute of Technology (a.k.a. Georgia Tech). He played collegiately for the Georgia Tech football team. He was inducted into the Georgia Tech Hall of Fame in 1971. Although drafted and signed as a professional he never played due to injury. He was selected as the 10th pick in the 1963 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams. Guard (American Football)
In gridiron football, a guard (G), otherwise known as an offensive guard (OG), is a player who lines up between the center and the tackles on the offensive line of a football team on the line of scrimmage used primarily for blocking. Right guards (RG) is the term for the guards on the right of the offensive line, while left guards (LG) are on the left side. Guards are to the right or left of the center.
