Rudy Pevenage
Rudy Pévenage (15 June 1954) is a former Belgian cyclist, and later in his career team coach of cycling teams such as , , , and . Pévenage was a professional cyclist from 1976 until 1988. His largest success was in the 1980 Tour de France: he won one stage and won the points classification. He reached second place in the 1979 Tour de Suisse. He also spent nine days in the yellow jersey, leading the general classification in the Tour de France. His nickname was ''de rosse van Moerbeke''. After his cycling career, Pévenage became a team manager. Pévenage was team manager of Deutsche Telekom when Jan Ullrich started his career. In 2002, when Ullrich was forced to leave the team, Pévenage followed Ullrich to his new team Bianchi. After a good 2003 Tour de France, Ullrich returned to Telekom, without Pévenage. Moerbeke (Geraardsbergen)
Moerbeke () is a municipality in the Belgian province of East Flanders. It is sometimes unofficially called Moerbeke-Waas () to distinguish between this place and in Geraardsbergen. The municipality comprises the town of Moerbeke proper, and part of the Dutch-Belgian village Koewacht. In 2021, Moerbeke had a total population of 6,619. The total area is 37.80 km². Moerbeke was known very well for its sugar refinery. The Brussels Cycling Classic (known until June 2013 as Paris–Brussels) is a semi classic European bicycle race, one of the oldest races on the international calendar. History Paris–Brussels was first run on 12 August 1893 as an amateur event over a distance of 397 km, Belgian Andre Henry took the inaugural victory from compatriot Charles Delbecque with France's Fernand Augenault coming in third. The race did not return to the racing calendar until 1906 when it was run as a two-day event on 3 and 4 June. The first stage of this 1906 event was run from the Paris suburb of Villiers-sur-Marne to Reims over 152 km and was won by France's Maurice Bardonneau. Milano–Torino is a semi classic European single day cycling race, between the northern Italian cities of Milan and Turin over a distance of 199 kilometres. The event was first run in 1876 making it the oldest classic race in the world. The event is owned by the RCS media group which owns the Italian sports daily ''La Gazzetta dello Sport''.
