Rudane (film)
Rupchandra Bista (; 9 January 1934 — 21 June 1999), better known as Rudane ( ne, रुदाने), was a Nepalese politician, philosopher and activist. He was born on 9 January 1934 in Palung, Makwanpur District. In the 1970s, Bista started his Thaha movement to spread knowledge to the people of Nepal. He was a member of the Rastriya Panchayat. Bista died on 21 June 1999. An upcoming biographical film, ''Rudane'' is based on his life, and Divya Dev plays the role of Rupchandra Bista. In 2014, the Government of Nepal named a local municipality Thaha Municipality Popularly known as Daman or Palung or Tistung - Palung, Thaha Municipality (थाहा नगरपालिका) is a municipality in Makwanpur District of Bagmati Province in mid Nepal. Palung (पालुङ्ग) is an ancient market place in Thaha Municipality in Makwanpur District in the Bagmati Province of Nepal. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 5,603 people living in 1,236 individual households. Makwanpur District
Makwanpur District( ne, मकवानपुर जिल्ला; , a part of Bagmati Province, earlier a part of Narayani Zone, is one of the seventy-seven districts of Nepal. The district, with Hetauda as its district headquarter, as well as pradesh headquarter covers an area of and had a population of 392,604 in 2001 and 420,477 in 2011. History During Rana regime, the district was named Chisapani District and the headquarter of the district was situated in Chisapanigadhi. The district renamed as Makwanpur on the name of Makwanpurgadhi and the headquarter moved to Hetauda in 1982. Rastriya Panchayat
Rastriya Panchayat was the official legislature (parliament) during the Panchayat regime of Nepal that effectively functioned from 1960 to 1990. Its head office was at the ''"Gallery Baithak"'' in Singha Durbar, Kathmandu. In the 1980s, it consisted of more than 120 members among which 105 members were directly elected by the people, while the king was to nominate 20 percent of its members, i.e. 19 members were nominated by the monarch. The Rastriya Panchayat was dissolved by King Birendra after the People's Movement I in 1990 and replaced by a bicameral legislature with a fully elected House of Representatives ( ne, Pratinidhi Sabha). Popularly known as Daman or Palung or Tistung - Palung, Thaha Municipality (थाहा नगरपालिका) is a municipality in Makwanpur District of Bagmati Province in mid Nepal. In Nepali Thaha, (थाहा) means to know. It was one of the biggest communist political movement led by hon. Rupchandra Bista (Ru Da Ne). He started the Thaha Movement which is dedicated to his contributions to this region.
