Ruben Castillo (boxer)
Ruben Castillo (born December 19, 1957) is an American boxer who fought in the Featherweight division. Castillo went on to fight four world championship fights against Hall of Famers Salvador Sánchez, Alexis Argüello and Julio César Chávez, as well as with Juan Laporte. Early life Castillo was born in Lubbock, Texas. He always identified himself as a Chicano and not as a Tejano like some Mexican-Americans from Texas do. He has lived most of his life in California and was also a resident of Tucson, Arizona. Professional career Castillo began boxing professionally on January 24, 1975, with a fourth round knockout of Frank Ahumada in Tucson. After outpointing Ahumada over six rounds in a rematch held in Phoenix, Castillo won three consecutive fights by first round knockout, including his first fight outside Arizona, when he beat Regis Rodriguez on March 31 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and his Las Vegas debut, on April 16 against Juan Aguilar. Roberto Clemente Coliseum (Spanish: ''Coliseo Roberto Clemente'') is a sports and concert arena located in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It was, for many years, Puerto Rico's largest indoor event facility, and remains one of the largest. General information The Coliseum is named after baseball hall of famer Roberto Clemente, who died in a plane crash off Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in Carolina in 1972, while flying with relief articles to be given to victims of the Nicaragua earthquake. Danny Lopez (born July 6, 1952) is an American former professional boxer who was the WBC featherweight champion of the world from November 1976 to February 1980. His nickname was ''Little Red''. Known for his tremendous punching power, in 2003 ''The Ring'' magazine rated Lopez at number 26 on their list of "100 Greatest Punchers". Eusebio Pedroza
Eusebio Pedroza (March 2, 1956 – March 1, 2019) was a Panamanian boxer who held the WBA and lineal featherweight championship from 1978 to 1985, having defended the title against 18 different contenders, more than any other boxer in featherweight history. His cousin, Rafael Pedroza, was a world champion also, in the junior bantamweight division, although Rafael's reign as world champion was short-lived. Walter Seeley
Walter Seeley was a professional American Super Featherweight boxer from Sayville, Long Island, New York, born in the June 11, 1941 on Lower East Side of Manhattan. Seeley turned pro on October 29, 1963 by fighting a four round draw with Mike Rosario at Sunnyside Garden Arena in Sunnyside, Queens. Seeley's professional record was 16 wins no losses and two draws when he met tough Dominican fighter Jose Fernandez on October 8, 1971 at the Felt Forum in New York City. The bout ended in a ten round draw. Dwight Muhammad Qawi (born Dwight Braxton; January 5, 1953) is an American former professional boxer who competed from 1978 to 1998. He was a world champion in two weight classes, having held the WBC and ''Ring'' magazine light heavyweight titles from 1981 to 1983, and the WBA cruiserweight title from 1985 to 1986. Qawi was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2004. Early life Qawi, then known as Dwight Braxton, was born in Baltimore, Maryland, but grew up in Camden, New Jersey, where he got involved with crime at a young age. He was eventually convicted of armed robbery and spent around five years in prison. It was in Rahway State Prison that Braxton found his place in life.
