Rubber Jungle Records
Rubber Jungle Records is an independent record label created by Phish frontman Trey Anastasio. It was started by Anastasio to release his album ''One Man's Trash''. The label released Anastasio's ''The Horseshoe Curve'' on July 24, 2007, and the live album '' Original Boardwalk Style'' on June 10, 2008. Trey Anastasio
Ernest Joseph "Trey" Anastasio III (born September 30, 1964) is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter, best known as the lead guitarist of the rock band Phish, which he co-founded in 1983. He is credited by name as composer of 152 Phish original songs, 141 of them as a solo credit, in addition to 41 credits attributed to the band as a whole. In addition to his work with Phish, Anastasio has released 11 solo albums, and been part of several side projects including the Trey Anastasio Band, Oysterhead, Ghosts of the Forest, Phil Lesh and Friends, and Surrender to the Air. He has performed his own compositions with the New York Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra, and many others. An independent record label (or indie label) is a record label that operates without the funding or distribution of major record labels; they are a type of small- to medium-sized enterprise, or SME. The labels and artists are often represented by trade associations in their country or region, which in turn are represented by the international trade body, the Worldwide Independent Network (WIN). Phish
Phish is an American rock band formed in Burlington, Vermont, in 1983. The band is known for musical improvisation, extended jams, blending of genres, and a dedicated fan base. The band consists of guitarist Trey Anastasio, bassist Mike Gordon, drummer Jon Fishman, and keyboardist Page McConnell, all of whom perform vocals, with Anastasio being the lead vocalist. The band was formed by Anastasio, Gordon, Fishman and guitarist Jeff Holdsworth, who were joined by McConnell in 1985. Holdsworth departed the band in 1986, and the lineup has remained stable since. Phish began to perform outside of New England in the late 1980s and experienced a rise in popularity in the mid 1990s. In October 2000, the band began a two-year hiatus that ended in December 2002, but they disbanded again in August 2004. The Horseshoe Curve
''The Horseshoe Curve'' is Trey Anastasio's sixth studio album. It was his second release on his record label, Rubber Jungle Records. ''The Horseshoe Curve'' is entirely instrumental apart from three cries of "Burlap Sack & Pumps" on track 3 of the same name. This album features the ten-member dectet that toured from 2002 to 2004. The album was primarily recorded at The Barn, Anastasio's recording studio near Burlington, Vermont, and Trout Recording in Brooklyn, New York. Original Boardwalk Style
''Original Boardwalk Style'' is a live album from Trey Anastasio and the Undectet, released on June 10, 2008 on Anastasio’s own Rubber Jungle Records. It was recorded live on December 30 and 31, 2006, at the House of Blues in Atlantic City, New Jersey. These two shows were recorded shortly after Anastasio was arrested for drug possession earlier that month and were his final concerts before he began a drug rehabilitation program; Anastasio made a reference to the arrest during the song "Makisupa Policeman" during the December 31 show, but that song does not appear on the album. Proceeds from the sale of the album benefit the Seven Below Arts Initiative, established by Anastasio in 2006 to foster artistic development and support arts education in the state of Vermont.
