Royston Town Football Club (also known as the Crows) are an English football club based in Royston, Hertfordshire, England, and have played their home games at Garden Walk since 1932. Founded in 1875, it is the third oldest club in Hertfordshire, behind Hitchin Town and Bishop's Stortford F.C., Bishop's Stortford. They reached the fifth round of the FA Vase in 2009–10 for the first time in their history, and the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup in 2019–20, losing to Maldon & Tiptree F.C., Maldon & Tiptree in front of a record crowd of 1,152 at Garden Walk. The Crows also reached the quarter final of the Buildbase FA Trophy in 2019–20 losing to eventual finalists Concord Rangers. Royston is a town and Civil parishes in England, civil parish in the North Hertfordshire, District of North Hertfordshire and county of Hertfordshire in England. William James Norris (born 12 August 1993) is an English professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for EFL League One side Portsmouth. Club career Royston Town Without a club at the start of the 2011–12 season, Norris made an approach to join Hertfordshire side Royston Town who in the previous season had narrowly missed out on promotion after finishing 3rd in the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division. He played a number of games for the reserve team where his performances caught the attention of then first team manager, Paul Attfield, who pulled him into the first team. On 20 September 2011, he made his debut for Royston in a 4–1 home win against Haringey Borough in the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division Cup. Dave Donaldson (footballer Born 1954)
David John Donaldson (born 12 November 1954) is an English former professional football right back who made 348 appearances in the Football League playing for Millwall and Cambridge United. He also played for the Los Angeles Skyhawks of the American Soccer League and for non-league club Royston Town, and was on the books of Arsenal without making a first-team appearance. Career Donaldson was born in Islington, London, and was an England schoolboy international before beginning his football career with Arsenal. He was a member of their 1971 FA Youth Cup-winning side, but never broke through to the first team. In June 1973, he transferred to Second Division club Millwall for £5,000. The team were relegated in 1975, and Donaldson helped them achieve promotion back to the Second Division in 1975–76, and made 258 appearances in all competitions over a six-and-a-half-year period. The 2016–17 season was the 114th in the history of the Southern League, which is an English football competition featuring semi-professional and amateur clubs from the South West, South Central and Midlands of England and South Wales. From the 2014–15 season onwards, the Southern League is known as Evo-Stik League Southern, following a sponsorship deal with Evo-Stik. The league constitution was announced on 12 May 2016. Steven Castle (born 17 May 1966) is English football manager and former player who is the manager of side Royston Town. As a player, he spent most of his career playing as a midfielder. Playing career Castle played in the Football League between 1984 and 2001. He played for Leyton Orient in three separate spells, amassing a total of 322 appearances for them.
