Royd Chambers
Royd E. Chambers (born June 28, 1961, in Adair County, Iowa) was the Iowa State Representative from the 5th District. He served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2003 through 2013. Chambers served on several committees in the Iowa House – the Appropriations committee; the Education committee; the Labor committee; and the Veterans Affairs committee. He also served as ranking member of the Education Appropriations Subcommittee. Chambers was re-elected in 2006 with 7,736 votes, running unopposed. Education Chambers graduated from Bridgewater-Fontanelle High School. He obtained his B.A. from Buena Vista University. Dwayne Alons
Dwayne Arlan Alons (October 30, 1946 – November 29, 2014) was an American politician. A Republican, he sat in the Iowa House of Representatives from 1999 to 2014, representing the 5th district until 2003, and the 4th district thereafter. He was a brigadier general in the Iowa Air National Guard and served as chief of staff at its headquarters. Alons died of cancer on November 29, 2014. He was succeeded in office by John Kooiker. Chuck Soderberg
Chuck Soderberg (born May 24, 1957) was the Iowa State Representative from the 5th District. He served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2005 through 2015. Soderberg was born in Burt, Iowa. He has a B.A. in education from Westmar College. , Soderberg serves on several committees in the Iowa House – Commerce and Environmental Protections committees. He also serves as the chair of the Appropriations Committee. Sheldon, Iowa
Sheldon is a city in O'Brien and Sioux counties in the U.S. state of Iowa, along the Floyd River. The population was 5,512 at the time of the 2020 census; it is the largest city in O'Brien County. History and culture Sheldon got its start in the year 1873, following construction of the Sioux City & St. Paul Railroad through that territory. It was named for Israel Sheldon, a railroad promoter. Buena Vista University
Buena Vista University is a private university in Storm Lake, Iowa. Founded in 1891 as Buena Vista College, it is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church. The university's campus is situated on the shores of Storm Lake, a natural lake. At its inception, the college was housed in the Storm Lake Opera House, where it remained for only a year. Old Main, the college's first building, opened in 1892, and was occupied by faculty and students until it burned down in 1956.
