Persian (), also known by its endonym Farsi (, ', ), is a Western Iranian language belonging to the Iranian branch of the Indo-Iranian subdivision of the Indo-European languages. Roya Arab
Roya Arab (born 1967) is an Iranian musician and archaeologist. Musical career Born in Tehran, Iran, Roya Arab learned the craft of singing during jam sessions around London in the early and mid-1990s. She was the first Iranian female to receive a publishing and recording deal from a major Western label, when she was signed as a member of Archive to Island Records in 1994, and the album ''Londinium'' was released in 1996. The band broke up shortly after. Arab went on to work with various artists, including Leila in Like Weather, Grooverider in ''Mysteries of Funk'', followed by some work in Paris with Zend Avesta and Naab, before working on a project with Mike Figgis. ''Courtesy of Choice'' (2000) by Leila was the last album Arab appeared on before a hiatus to study archaeology. Röya (singer)
Royala Yagub gyzy Najafova ( az, Röyalə Yaqub qızı Nəcəfova), known as Röya Aykhan or simply Röya, is an Azerbaijani pop singer. She is known for her liberal artistic style. Career Aliyar got Roya started with her singing career as a member of the W-Trio girls-band in 1999, with two other soloists: Elnara Khalilova and Natavan Habibi. In March 2003, Roya decided to leave the band to pursue a solo career and later, quickly became one of the country's most popular stars, enjoying admiration from a generation of young Azerbaijani fans. Her debut single "Bilersenmi?" was released in early September 2003 and her debut album ''Söyle'' was released in May 2004. Roya Ramezani ( fa, رؤیا رمضانی) is an Iranian designer and women's rights campaigner. She was selected for the BBC's '' 100 Women'' programme in 2017. Career Roya Ramezani was born in Northern Iran and was raised in Tehran, but moved to Toronto, Canada, at the age of to be with her extended family and study. She studied at three different universities, including York University and the School of Visual Arts in New York City. She began to work in a diverse team in Silicon Valley as an intern at Google, but realised that the women in the team were not interacting in meetings to the same degree as their male counterparts. This led to her thesis at SVA entitled "Exponent: Amplifying the Female Voices in Tech Discourse". Inspired by the Hansen Writing Ball, she developed a new keyboard to empower women to use more strong language by reducing the size of the keys and adding full-word shortcuts such as "claim", "disagree" and "insist".
