Roy Dorsey
Roy Lee Dorsey (April 25, 1889 – August 26, 1972) was an American Negro league pitcher in the 1910s. A native of Kansas City, Missouri, Dorsey played for the Kansas City Giants in 1911. Pitcher
In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. Kansas City (abbreviated KC or KCMO) is the largest city in Missouri by population and area. The Negro leagues were United States professional baseball leagues comprising teams of African Americans and, to a lesser extent, Latin Americans. The Kansas City Giants were a professional Negro leagues baseball team, based in Kansas City, Kansas. From 1909 to 1911, the Kansas City Giants played as a member of the Western Independent Clubs.
