Roxboro-Pierrefonds in the borough of Pierrefonds-Roxboro in Montreal, Quebec, Canada is a future Réseau express métropolitain station, expected to open in 2024. It was operated by Exo in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It was served by the Deux-Montagnes line. The station will be renamed to Pierrefonds-Roxboro when Réseau express métropolitain service commences, to match the name of the borough of Pierrefonds-Roxboro. History The station was originally named Roxboro, and was built as part of Canadian Northern Railway's line from Montreal to Deux-Montagnes via the Mount Royal Tunnel. It handled passengers, mail, and freight. Roxboro Station burned down in 1932 and was not immediately rebuilt. Instead the stop moved approximately west to where the railway crossed Gouin Boulevard West. This station was known as Ste-Genevieve. Sunnybrooke Station
Sunnybrooke is a future Commuter rail in North America, commuter rail station operated by the Réseau de transport métropolitain (RTM) in the borough of Pierrefonds-Roxboro in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It was served by the Exo (public transit), Exo Deux-Montagnes line. On December 31, 2020, the Deux-Montagnes line closed permanently in favour of REM service, which will operate along the same route. Rail service at the station will resume with the opening of the Deux-Montagnes branch of the REM, expected in the fourth quarter of 2024. Deux-Montagnes or Two Mountains Line (also designated exo6 and formerly Red Line) was formerly a commuter railway line in Greater Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It was owned by Exo, the organization that operates public transport services across this region. The line was created in 1918 as a Canadian Northern Railway (CNoR) service. Canadian National Railway (CN) ran the line starting in 1923 following the merger of CNoR into CN. CN transferred the Deux-Montagnes Line to the Société de transport de la communauté urbaine de Montréal (STCUM) on July 1, 1982. The line was refurbished from 1992 to 1995. Roxboro, Quebec
Roxboro was a town on the Island of Montreal. It was founded in 1914, and ceased to exist on 1 January 2002 as a result of municipal reorganization in Quebec. The town was located along the Rivière des Prairies. At the time of the merger with Montreal, its population was 6,000. Geography The area north of the train tracks was subject to many floods. Roxboro Island In 1974 the town of Roxboro decided to purchase the island (Lot 311) at the North end of 5th Avenue North and paid $46,130.36 to the former owner in a court expropriation decision .
