Roxabell, Ohio
Roxabell is an unincorporated community in central Concord Township, Ross County, Ohio, United States. It lies at the intersection of Davis Hill and Jamison Roads, little more than 1 mile (about 2 km) south of the village of Frankfort. Two parts of the North Fork of Paint Creek, a subsidiary of the Ohio River through the Scioto River, pass near Roxabel. Scioto River
The Scioto River ( ) is a river in central and southern Ohio more than in length. It rises in Hardin County just north of Roundhead, Ohio, flows through Columbus, Ohio, where it collects its largest tributary, the Olentangy River, and meets the Ohio River at Portsmouth. Yarmouth, Maine
Yarmouth is a town in Cumberland County, Maine, United States, twelve miles north of the state's largest city, Portland. When originally settled in 1636, as North Yarmouth, it was part of Massachusetts, and remained as such for 213 years. Greenfield, Ohio
Greenfield is a large village in Highland and Ross counties, Ohio, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 4,639. Since the population declined to under 5,000, the Census Bureau may still call it a city, but by Ohio's laws it is technically deemed a village. Greenfield is most well known because of its rich history, including its community members helping in the underground railroad, new industries, and McClain High School. History Greenfield was named for its rural appearance. General Duncan McArthur founded the town in 1799. Greenfield has had many innovators, such as Edward Lee McClain who was well known for his detachable horse collar. The American Pad and Textile Company was created by McClain later in life. This company provided job opportunities for Greenfield, and created products such as the life vest used in World War II. Ohio State Route 28
State Route 28 (SR 28) is an east–west state highway in the U.S. state of Ohio. Both of the route's termini are on U.S. Route 50 (US 50). Its western end is in Milford and its eastern end is near Chillicothe. The route has an interchange with Interstate 275 (I-275), and also intersects US 68 and US 62. The route was formerly signed as SR 27 before that number was assigned to US 27 in 1926. History The corridor that SR 28 currently occupies has been a part of the state highway system from its establishment in 1912. Between 1912 and 1922, the corridor had been known as State Highway 8.
