Anne Rowse
Anne Elizabeth Rowse (born 15 August 1931) is a retired New Zealand dancer and was director of the New Zealand School of Dance for 25 years. Biography Rowse was born on 15 August 1931, the daughter of Garnet William Rowse and Nancy May James. She trained in ballet in New Zealand and then travelled to England, arriving there in 1952. She danced with Festival Ballet, now the English National Ballet, in London from 1952 to 1960. From 1978 to April 1993, Rowse was director of the New Zealand School of Dance. Under the leadership of Rowse in 1982 the national training institute introduced a contemporary dance programme which included a change of name from the National School of Ballet. In the 2001 Queen's Birthday Honours, Rowse was appointed an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit, for services to ballet and dance. Herbert James Rowse
Herbert James Rowse (10 May 1887 – 22 March 1963) was an English architect. Born in Liverpool and a student of Charles Reilly at the Liverpool University School of Architecture, Rowse opened an architectural practice in the city. Although he designed major buildings for other cities, Rowse is best known for his work in Liverpool, including India Buildings, the entrances to and ventilation towers of the Mersey Tunnel ("Queensway"), and the Philharmonic Hall. He designed in a range of styles, from neoclassical to Art Deco, generally with a strong American influence. Life and career Rowse was born at 15 Melling Road, Liverpool, the son of James William Rowse, a builder, and his wife, Sarah Ann, ''née'' Cammack. Michael Rowse
Michael "Mike" John Treloar Rowse (, born ) is a Hong Kong public figure. A naturalised citizen of the People's Republic of China, Rowse was the Director-General of InvestHK, a government departments and agencies in Hong Kong, department of the Hong Kong Government. Rowse was one of the few foreign-born civil servants in the post-handover Hong Kong Government. He is best known for having negotiated the Hong Kong Disneyland deal on behalf of the government in November 1999 in which the government became the park's largest shareholder; he thus received the nickname "Mickey Rowse", an allusion to Mickey Mouse, the Disney character. Rowse then set up InvestHK, and was appointed its Director General on 1 July 2000. As head of the agency, he became involved in Harbour Fest, an event to promote Hong Kong in the Progress of the SARS outbreak#April 2004, aftermath of the SARS outbreak in 2003 which became a topic of controversy due to its cost over-runs.
